Who else watched Spider-Man on MTV?

I found that the animation was more exciting than the presumably more expensive animation in the movie. You get to see Spider-Man do a lot more crazy ninja shit, and unlike the movie he actually fires off wisecracks while he does it. I’m puzzled by the flat look they are attempting to achieve in what is otherwise obviously rendered 3D.

I was disappointed with Harry again not having the Osborne wave in his hair. I understand that it’s difficult to render, but real people do have it, like the guy who played Hamilton Burger on the Perry Mason TV show.

I was happy with the voicework. Doogie Howser seems appropriate to the role and to the face they’ve given him. Lisa Loeb was an odd, sort of against-type choice for Mary Jane, but she seems to be working out. I recognized the voice of Cree Summer from her appearances in Fallout, Baldur’s Gate and Freelancer, though the IMDB does not actually credit her – her name does appear in the
shows credits, though. The IMDB does list voices for the future, including Keith David from Fallout and Planescape: Torment, and Michael Dorn from Fallout 2, and other minor work.

Overall, I’m pretty excited with the show. Not Firefly excited, mind you, but pretty well stoked.

The series has an Ultimate SM feel, which I kinda like, but probably will not be on long enough to get really good.

Did you like it?

It was fine

And that concludes this week’s episode of Brevity Theatre.

it does

I actually liked it a lot, it’s new and change is always a good thing for me. The storyline is interesting and the animation is intriguing.
