Iconic hairstyle, sure, but I’m not sure about hair, hair. In their Cure in Orange concert movie, as the band is walking onto the stage, <generic interchangeable Swedishy bandmate X> grabs Robert’s hair and… pulls it off, tossing the wig into the crowd. He had a crewcut beneath.

Haven’t seen that footage, but how could anybody produce a wig like this? Or is just some ragged old mop?
I think he does grow it out sometimes. The Cure in Orange was in 1986, so he’s had plenty of time to work on the natural 'do.
