19, had 3 ear piercings but all grown in, and two tattoos (and no, I don’t have a tramp stamp, and one tattoo is from a book and another from a video game, so I’m not jumping on the dolphin/star/kanji/etc. bandwagon, and both can be easily covered up by clothes for work).
Ditto what ArchiveGuy said. Except the part about a wife…I don’t have one at present.
- Pierced ears, two tattoos, one on my right hip, one on the small of my back (not out of any faddishness, just wanted it discreet-it only gets seen if I want it to get seen).
21 here. At 18 I got my nipples pierced, then my belly button about 6 months after that. I never had any problems with them during the healing time or after. I stopped liking the piercings so I took them out after about a year and a half - and that’s why I wouldn’t get a tattoo.
I’ve had my ears pierced since I was a baby. I haven’t worn earrings in about a year, but the holes haven’t closed up. I just checked. 
Mr Johnson is 26. He had 5 holes in his ears from his teen years but they’ve been closed up as long as I’ve known him.
No tattoos for either of us.
36 year old male. Currently no piercings, but have had four over the years. Two tragus piercings (one in each ear), a nostril piercing, and one downstairs. Four tattoos, two mediumish sized ones on my right shoulder and left pec, a large half sleeve on my left arm from my shoulder to my elbow, and a large tattoo on my right forearm from my elbow to my wrist.
52 - no piercings, no tats. Heck, I don’t even wear makeup!
36, female.
I got my ears pierced when I was 11 and added a second piercing to the left lobe in college. My ears are sensitive and I rarely wear earrings (and never in the third piercing anymore).
I have one tattoo (easily hidden for work). I got it last year after 1 year of maintaining my 70 lb weight loss. It’s very significant to me and kind of keeps me on track - if I ever regain the weight, I will have a permanent reminder of my failure.
If I ever thought of a tattoo as meaningful as this one, I might get another one but I can’t imagine what/where.
40’s, two pierces in one ear, three in the other (I usually wear 1-2 earrings per ear, but most people don’t notice more than 1), no tattoos. I’m not opposed on principle, but I’ve never come up with a design that I thought I’d want on myself over time. I once saw flash for an artichoke and melted butter that was nice, though.
32, currently have three in my left earlobe, two in my right. That’s it.
I used to have my tongue pierced, but that was only for about 4 years or so when I was in my twenties. I also used to have two more piercings in my upper left ear, but one of them got ripped out at a concert, caused an infection that got into the cartilege, and after months of antibiotics the doctor told me to never get them redone because bad things could happen to the cartilege and I could lose the upper part of my ear. To this day my ears don’t really “match”. Luckily this is the sort of thing absolutely no one notices.
49, male, one piercing in my left ear lobe and a 30 year old tattoo on my left arm that started out as an anchor and has turned into a black blob.
37 year old female.
I’ve never even had my ears pierced. (And no tats or other piercings.)
I think I must be the last American female of my generation not to have ever pierced their ears. My lobes are virgin, and so shall they ever be. No one ever believes me. I have to show them my virgin lobes everytime this topic comes up.

I can’t think of anyone I know or work with who has a visible tattoo or any piercings beyond women with their ears done.

38, Male.
Left ear pierced, nothing else inked or pierced. I’d like to get a tattoo, but I’ve never found anything I’d want to have for the rest of my life. Once we get changeable tattoos, I’ll have THAT done, and it’ll look different every day.
35, female. One small tattoo, pierced ears (3 in one, 2 in the other, and only wear earrings in the first holes).

20 years old, female.
4 piercings, two in each earlobe. The first holes are stretched to 2g, and the second holes I just wear regular studs in.
No real tattoos yet, although I have a tiny blue pinprick dot on the pad of my left ring finger. Three years ago, I was opening a jar of printing ink and a shard of dried ink stabbed me and the tip broke off. I always wonder how many people have “accidental tattoos” from being stabbed with a pencil or something similar.
45, female. I got my ears pierced when I was 12. Well, that was actually the second time, since my older sister attempted to pierce my ear with a needle when I was about 10. That time didn’t work, and my parents made me wait until I was in junior high. I haven’t pierced anything since, since I have enough trouble deciding on earrings to put in the holes I have.
I have an ankle tattoo that I got a couple of years ago. I’m pretty unique in my age group for that around here, from what I can tell.
