Unfortunately, there’s a little bit of fur, shall we say, visible in the extant photos. I know I’m on bmezine somewhere, so you could look through their pictures. I call it the Mark of Jacob, btw.
Yeah, like I have that kind of time (or patience)!
Oh well, it just sounded interesting. Thanks for getting back to me.
25/female
Used to have an eyebrow piercing and dreads, which were a bad combo for me. Got rid of the piercing after a year, kept the dreads longer till they got too heavy to be comfortable. Otherwise, no piercings, not even my ears.
I have two large tattoos, one on my chest and one on my side. The one on my chest takes up most of it, which was cool until I needed to shop for a wedding dress. Since my mom is very anti-body modification, I need to cover it up, but all plus-sized dresses are cut down to my who-ha since most gals my size want to show off their bodacious ta-tas. Still love the tat, just wish I could turn it off for a day.
A good chunk of my friends have nothing beyond earlobes, and another chunk have more than me. I’m in acedamia, so people tend to run the gambit.
21, male, no tattoos or piercings of any sort.
29M I burned two roses onto my ankle about 6 years ago. I also have a ring of burn marks around my watch line(7-8 years ago). I was trying to do the lighter smilyface trick but ended up with 7 large circular burns around my watch line. I wasn’t all that sane in college. Both of these happened when I was drunk and bored.
38, Male, two tattoos (one on my left forearm, one on my right shoulder), currently three piercings (zero gauge holes in each earlobe, plus a tongue piercing). In the past, i had one nipple pierced (it started to grow out, so i removed it) and a lot more holes in my ears (about 4 more in my left ear and 6 in my right, that i just got tired of).
36, no piercings. I’ll most likely be getting http://www.toys-mall.com/old_corvette_logo.jpg on my right calf within the next month or so. My calf muscles are really well defined and there’s a nice flat section it’d look good in. I’ve had at least one Corvette now for 10 years, so I don’t think it’ll be something I tire of soon.
I wanted something I could hide in business clothing, but didn’t want to start having to wear wife beaters to show off something a t-shirt would cover up off the clock.
The Wife got a ‘catgoyle’ (http://www.hauntiholik.com/tat5.jpg) in celebration of the end of the worst year of our life. I had a long time girlfriend that wanted a tatoo that I was prudishly against in college, I figure this time I should do it WITH my wife as I saw what happened when I tried to stop it. She’s precisely the person I married, before and after the tat, and I think it did her good. After a LOT of consideration, I figure my tat will be a positive, or at the very worst, a neutral thing over time.
50 yr old male. Earring in my left ear, no tattoos.
My son and I want to get identical tattoos (a dragon, perhaps, on the back of the left shoulder). I had my ear pierced about five minutes before we had my daughter’s ears pierced. This was about fourteen years ago.
My older brother and his wife have multiple tattoos - the comic characters Iron Man (after he finished the Iron Man triathlon), Thor, the Human Torch, and Spider-Man, and various other tats. He has the logo of the organization that sponsors him tattooed in a prominent place, because he gets paid every time his picture gets published showing the logo. And my sister-in-law - when she wears shorts, you can’t tell from a distance because her legs are almost entirely covered. Winnie the Pooh, Eyore, etc., under some trees. And a camel on her back, to celebrate her sobriety (seventeen years so far - yeah her!).
Almost none of our friends have piercings or tattoos.
Regards,
Shodan

Ears pierced when I was 11 or so - and right ear double-pierced when I was 20. The holes have probably closed, I haven’t bothered with earrings for years.
Belly button pierced when I was 29 - the ring came out one day while I was cleaning it, the hole closed over, and I didn’t bother getting it redone.
Tattoo when I was 32 - a hummingbird over my solar plexus area - it’s cute and I don’t regret it, but if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t have done it. Someday when I have an extra couple of hundred bucks, I will probably get it touched up and maybe changed a bit.
Four holes in the left ear lobe, plus one up in the cartilage. Two in the right lobe. Only wear earrings in the bottom hole on each side (1/3 CW diamond studs) plus a discreet gold hoop in the cartilage pierce.
I’m going to get my belly button pierced next week.
No tattoo yet, but I’ve been plotting one for the last 15 years…
39, female.
- Two holes in my left ear, one in my right. I normally don’t wear earrings, as I need to get around to getting some surgical steel earrings that will be less reactive with my skin.
No tattoos. I’ve wanted to get a piece with a couple of lines from one of my favorite poems for a very long time, but unfortunately, I’d probably need to have it on my calf or thigh for the printing to be best presented. :smack: (this is what happens when you’re as tiny as I am. sigh)
33 with just the standard ear piercing (one hole in each lobe). I’ve considered getting the cartilage piercing, but I’ve heard that HURTS.
I’ve considered two tattoos: a teddy bear on my left ankle, and a memorial of my Mom (her name in cursive as an anklet decorated with yellow roses and her birthdate and death date on a lock charm hanging from the anklet) after she dies. I work in education, so I don’t want anything big.
The problem is my husband-he doesn’t want me getting a tattoo. Period. I am going to fight for the memorial one-all the details have special meaning.
44 ears pierced, small tatoo on back. May I say that people with no tatoos or piercings are a HUGE turn on for me, I just love those perfect bodies with no additional holes. I note a few non-pierced people say they are boring - oh no - you’re very exciting to me!

earlobes with one hole each
no tattoos or scars

I have had my ears ierced since early teens - 2 left earlobe, 3 right earlobe.
On he occasion of my 47th brithday I got a small shooting star tattooed on my the swell of my right breast, and then 2 years later, a star shower (original design by me) down the nape of my neck. My hair is very long, so thst star shower does not show unless I wear my hair up, which is almost never. The shooting star on my breast is just small enough I really have to work to find a blouse that will allow it to show if I want it to.
My 32 year old son has his tongue pieced, though he no longer wears the stud. I believe he also has 6 tattoos.
pierced! That should read pierced, though some I know might say his toungue is pieced as a result of the piercing.
51 Male. No tats, no piercing. Wouldn’t consider them under any circumstances. Strictly personal opinion, but I find the overwhelming majority of tattoos, and an even larger percentage of piercings to be totally idiotic. And yes, I make value judgements of people based on such things. Such is Life.
55 years old (56 in September). I have number of piercings between the ear lobes and the knees, a couple of which I’ve let close up. At this point I have only one tattoo at the top of my right shoulder blade, but now that my personal many-years-long economical crunch has eased I’m planning on a few more. The word among tattoo devotees is that there is something addictive in the ink and once you have one you can’t quit (sort of like Lay’s potato chips).
My dad picked up half a dozen tattoos while in the Marine Corp and I grew up thinking of them more as a personal statement than a passing trend. My pierced ears (two in each lobe) were a matter of practicality…I got tired of losing earrings with the clip-on variety. Besides…the pierced ones are prettier. ;>) The rest of the piercings were collected while immersed in an “alternative” lifestyle.
Male, 44
No tattoos, but wanna get one eventually.
Pierced left ear.
Pierced nipples (both) with 5/8" 12 gauge rings. Got 'em done in the early 90’s.
Female, 48. Ears pierced (one hole each) since I was 2 1/2 (would have been since birth if my mom had had her way, she’s Mexican). No tatoos. I’ve thought of getting an additional hole in one of my earlobes, but that’s the most I’d do.
