Who here has bought some straight dope stuff?

You know like a book mug or t-shirt. I admit that I have not but I intend to. [hangs head in shame]

I bought a mug. Never used. I’m thinking of comming up with some sort of contest and have it be the prize.

I purchased a T-shirt, with which I am well-pleased.

Got the t-shirt and have a picture of me wearing it at this years Kentucky Derby.

I have all the SD books.

I have all the SD books (I bought them, they were not given to me by the Reader) and I’ve given away several SD books. May I point out that these books are EXCELLENT presents for graduation? I also tend to keep a couple of extra books gift wrapped in “neutral” paper, as they are handy for last minute presents for any occasion. I started doing this even before I was involved in any SD online community.

I received a SD staff mug from the Reader a couple of years ago, when we mods gathered in Chicago. I don’t know if I would have bought one for myself.

I have the mug. I wish I could bring it to work, but I don’t have desk. So I use it when I’m online.

I wanted to get the T-shirt and mug, but as they say in the commercials: “They don’t answer “Words that end in --gry” questions, and they don’t take American Express”.

Oh yeah… and the books too of course.

Please help.

Please meet Twisty. he was born without a credit card. As a result, he has missed out on so much in life, including

  1. Having to use dangerous cash machines when he needs money to… save homeless kitties [sub]… yes, that a good excuse… sucker them in with the little kittie stories… [/sub]

  2. Not getting tickets to see his favourite band play in the biggest concert this year ( Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slane) because everyone with credit cards got them first. [sub] thats right, appeal to the music lovers [/sub]

  3. Not getting any Straight Dope merchandice. How he would love a t-shirt. He would be the talk of the office with a straight dope mug. He can preach the truth to the masses if he has The Good Books…

So, you can help Twisty. as he’s too modest for cash donations [sub] Hah!! [/sub] Please feel free to but an Item of straight dope gear and send it to him. Also, downloading his music from http://iamspartacus.iuma.com helps him get through the day.
Give a little, helps a lot.

I have bought two of the books so far.

I own all the books, & I want the next one to come out soon!

T-shirt, mug and all the books. Except the second, which is out of print. C’mon folks, get yer CECIL SPAM!!

I bought the first 3 books as they came out, and was the first kid on my block to own a Straight Dope T-Shirt, purchased on-line.

I have all the books, purchased as they hit the stores. I don’t use coffee mugs (although I do have one advertising Moxie), and my tee shirts tend to feature obscure bookshops and record stores in far-off cities.

I have a T-shirt. I’d like to get a mug next, as I kind of have a weak spot for coffee mugs.

I only have one book, but I’m sure I’ll collect more eventually.

I bought the first book a couple years after it came and the subsequent books as they came out.

Eventually I’ll get around to buying a T-shirt online, I like T-shirts.

I bought the latest book (Triumph, IIRC) in a local store for the sheer novelty. (“Cool, it’s a Straight Dope book! And there’s even stuff from the message board in here!”)

Then I bought the other three still in print from the SD website. Mostly because somebody (I forget who) said that there were lots of dopers who said they’d donate for a new server but apparently wouldn’t put their money where their mouths are and buy the merchandise. So there! Take that! [sub]Heyyyy… Wait a second…[/sub] Of course, they’re good reading, so I’m not complaining.

I’m ashamed to admit I only have one Straight Dope book. ::hangs head:: But the rest are on my wish list, honest.

Do the shirts come in XXXL? I need the larger size foooor…my sholders, I swear.

I bought a couple of books. The books were sent to me via priority mail. Impressive. I would buy more online if other sites were like this one. On a sadder note, I lent both books out and never got them back. My heart still aches.
