Who here has eaten at McDonald's the most? The least?

I am not sure where Bedrock is but I find it hard to believe that anyone, that lives in the US, has only eaten at McD’s one time in their entire life. Unless you have always lived someplace that had no McDonalds (mars?)

As an adult, I don’t really care for their food and don’t eat there very often.

As a kid though I never contemplated the platicization of my happy meals.

Cheers

As a kid I went quite a bit, dropped off to practically nothing in my late teens and twenties, then up to about once a month for a couple years. Then I swore off the stuff. Now I go a couple times a year at the most. Compared to other places, that’s a lot for me, though. I never eat at Burger King, Jack in the Box or any other fast food place.

My one exception is In-N-Out Burger. I’ll eat there maybe once a month or less. They replaced McDonalds in my diet.

I go there maybe once a week or two when that inexplicable craving hits me. Lately I’ve been cutting down on proportions though, so I’ve gone from a high point of those new 1/3# burger meals, large fries and coke (and yes I couldn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day) down to a small coke, small fries and a cheeseburger. Strangely enough, that meal is far more satisfying than scarfing down the other pound of food.

I’m 41. Perhaps a handful - 4 or 5 - times. Add in another dozen or so for Wimpey / Casey Jones / Burger King. I prefer pub food.

Couple hundred from ages 5-20. Sporatically through my 20’s and non in my 30’s so far…I’ve got a few years until I hit 40 so we’ll see. There was a guy on NPR today who made his McDonalds Feng Shui. I might eat at that one.

Really? There are a LOT of people in the USA. Lot of vegetarians and vegans. Not me, of course - I’m a fat tub o’ goo, and LOVE me an Egg McMuffin, Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit, and Steak, Egg, & Cheese Bagel…

Joe

I realize that there are a LOT of people in the USA Joe,
and I would have excluded vegetarians and vegans except the person I was responding to said;
“Don’t get me wrong… I love fast food, especially burgers. But for some reason McDonalds has always seemed way too plasticized to even contemplate.”

Cheers

I can even give you the date of the last time I ate a McDonalds burger - 22 October 1983 - my last major meat-eating lapse before becoming vegetarian. I think it was somewhere near the Strand or Trafalgar Square, during some demonstration or other, and there was nothing else available.
Seeing as I’d only had my first ever McDonald’s four years previously, and only when visiting the UK, I’d be surprised if I’d clocked up more than two dozen visits in total. Apart from that I ate an ice-cream at a branch of McDonalds in central San Salvador in 1988, in a restored art nouveau building.

Lesse…none until I was, what, around five or so? Then maybe once a month from 5-13 (108 total).

Around that time, I decided that McDonalds sucked ass and that Burger King was the only fast food I liked, so from 13-30 I had it maybe a dozen times (120 total).

I started dating my wife (a McDonalds lover) when I when I was 29, and it would have taken her a good year to wear me down and start eating it again. Since then, I’ll say every other week or so. That brings us to a total of 380, which reads as kinda low…I’ll call it somewhere between 400-450 times in my life.

I’d say I’ve eaten there 2000+ times, easily. I ate the same thing for lunch every day for six years when I worked for a newspaper in the early-mid ‘90s, because it was close by and quick (#1 with a Diet, $3.14 at the drive-thru). Then I developed a breakfast habit, 5 days a week, because it was on the way to work, at another job a few years ago.

I love Big Macs, and I love the steak, egg and cheese bagels for breakfast. Yes, they’re bad for me. I don’t eat there anymore, except for the occasional road trip when we’re starving and short on time.

[1950’s educational film about the moon, describing how you’d weigh 1/6 as much as on earth] Slow down, tubby! You’re not on the moon yet!

Hmm, I knew they fixed it in India but the last I’d heard - not that I’ve been breathlessly keeping up with their developments - was that they were still beef-dosing it in the US. That was quite a while ago, mind you.

I’ll admit I’m holding onto an old annoyance. I would get fries because they were good and they were (supposedly) vegetarian and thus one of the few things I could eat there, and then later my stomach would feel funny and I’d gripe about getting older and fried food not agreeing with me so much any longer. Then I find out they were slipping that junk into their fries.

Several hundred times when I was a teenager, substantially lessening through my 20’s and 30’s. Since I’ve discovered 5 Guys Burgers, I just can’t face Greasy Mac’s meat flavored grease any more. At least the burgers. The breakfast items are A-Okay by me.

21 years old, my estimations are at about 1300, based on probably eating there about twice a month for the first 14 years of my life, then 3 times a week during the 5 years I worked there, and once monthly for the last few years, adding a couple hundred for the almost daily trip during high school lunch.

I’m 54 and I’ve probably eaten at McDonalds about 20 times in my life. I’m not vegetarian, but I’ve always found their fast food to be neither fast nor food. The last time I ate there was one afternoon in the spring of 1988, when I was desperate for something to eat after missing my lunch. It took about 25 minutes to get a crappy tasting burger-like object and some raw potatoes soaked in petroleum by-products. I swore to never again darken McDonald’s door, and I haven’t.

I used to eat at McDonald’s quite a bit when I was a kid, but now that I’m an adult, I might eat there once every 6 months. And that’s when I’m out of options and in a mad rush and on the highway and starving, and that happens to be the service station I drive by.

Oh, Jeebus. 1/3# burgers? One?

I’ve gone less than 100x – only went once or twice a year as a kid (at most). Teens, maybe once a month or so. I worked in a restaurant so the last thing I wanted was McD’s – especially after eating a large pizza for lunch at work.

Now (I’m 33) when I get a craving, I generaly get 4 cheeseburgers, 2 chicken sammies, and a Fry off the dollar menu. that would be lunch, and of course I would still eat dinner. However, I only go there about 2x a year.

My favorite lunchtime place near work is a sammich place that makes 2 sizes of subs. I get a large turkey sub with everything. Their small is 9", and their large is 18". Yum.

I only started going there often in the last couple of years–now I go through the drive-through a couple of times per week. Two double cheesburgers, $0.99 each. Makes a satisfying meal, and very fast.

I used to eat at McDonald’s fairly regularly; maybe once or twice a month. But I was hungry on a few months back and stopped at a McDonald’s because it was the first place I passed by and I realized I hadn’t eaten in a McDonald’s in over three years. I didn’t even recognize some of the things on the menu. It’s not that I gave up on fast food; I just prefer Burger King or Wendy’s.

The first seventeen years of my life, exactly once. Then I got the fever. Since then, at least twice a week for the last 30 years, so at least 3000 times. So they have gotten around $15,000 from me. I have made almost as much on their stock over the same period, so I figure I am eating free. Great company, great food, great stock. I just wish they still had the fried apple pies. You can’t even get them in Wal-Mart locations any more. :frowning:
