I’m a Phil Hendrie fan, and I love his spoofs of other radio people – his Art Bell and Jim Rome impersonations are perfect – but who the hell is this Combover Boy he keeps talking about? And is he the same as Forehead Boy?
Not sure if he’s also Forehead Boy, but Combover Boy is fellow talkradio host Tom Leykis.
If you’ve never heard him before, Tom Leykis is basically a very articulate Andrew Dice Clay (though I like to think of him more as a male Dr. Laura). He gives advice to guys on how to get laid, avoid bad girlfriends, marriage etc. I like both him and Phil (Phil more though).
Although I don’t espouse most of his ideas, if you don’t take him too seriously, in today’s oh-so politically correct, touchy-feelly world the stuff he says can be pretty freakin’ funny! And, like it or not, sometimes stereotypes can be a little true.
And there seems to be no end to, ahem, ditzy bimbos who call his show to complain and just wind up proving his point…
Thanks; nope, Leykis isn’t on here. But it’s intereresting, though not surprising, that Hendrie would be so hostile to someone who does some similar things.
I would never even think to put Phil and Tom in similar categories.
