Who is NOT dead?

Sorry, missed it.

Just saw Death Race 2050 last night with some friends at a bar. Not a good movie, but pretty entertaining in a sleazy way. Saw his name on the credits and thought, “Holy shit, he’s still alive!?” Looked him up and he was.

It’s not really surprising or anything, as he makes at least one cameo per movie, but Stan Lee is still kicking at 94.

When the “X of the Dead” remakes started coming out in 2004, I was surprised to learn that George A. Romero was still alive (merely 77 now). He moved onto other types of films for awhile.

Another birthday boy. Happy 91st, LeBeau.

His IMDb page is remarkably sparse given the length of his career.

D’oh! :smack:

One more: Richard Chamberlain (82) was pretty big in the 70s, hasn’t been very big for awhile but still working steadily.

Oh thanks, I thought that…someone better tell that website I perused yesterday! :smack:

Bruce Kirby, Bruno’s father, will be 89 next month. Bruno died in 2006.

I’m positive that he was on “Days of our Lives” more frequently than the 7 credits listed on IMDB; my grandmother watched Days religiously when I was a kid in the 1970s, and I remember seeing Clary on it fairly often (and, of course, recognizing him from “Hogan’s Heroes”).

His Wikipedia entry indicates he had a recurring role on Days from 1972 to 1986, as well as on “The Young and the Restless” from 1973-1979 (which IMDB doesn’t list at all).

Soaps have very, very incomplete credit lists, and the further back you go, the more spotty they are. There are reasons for that, but it is what it is.

Trivia about Clary:

He played the suspected bomber Joseph Späh of the blimp “Hindenburg” in the 1975 movie of the same name.

In real life, Joseph Späh was himself an actor, and was indeed for a while considered responsible for the airship’s downing.

Joseph Späh acted under the name ‘Ben Dova’ (ha! ha!), and his only notable movie appearance is at the beginning of “Marathon Man” (1976). He plays Laurence Olivier’s brother, whose Mercedes Benz has stalled, and is in the way of the agitated Lou Gilbert, who starts pushing him out of the way.

Still alive:

Carol Burnett
Charo
Tim Conway
Sandy Duncan
Robert Fuller
Monty Hall
Barbara Harris
Elaine May
John Schuck
Neil Simon
Maggie Smith
Karen Valentine

She’s going to be on Dancing With the Stars.

Jim Nabors, aka Gomer Pyle, is 86.

Ronnie Schell, who played Gomer’s friend Duke, is also still alive. He’s 85.

While not as old as most mentioned so far, but even better by being a twosome are Paula Prentiss and Richard Benjamin. Both 78 and still married.

He is still fairly active. Maybe he could be a guest star on Westworld And She didn’t appear in a ton of stuff but most of it is good. Only two things in the last 20 years but was in I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House last year.

Brendan Fraser’s career, although it may be terminal.

He did a noted stint on The Affair this last season and he’s worked steadily for years. He sort of fell between the cracks of being a goofy comedian, an action hero and a serious film actor. I’d say his career is not dead yet. Doing better, in fact.

Good one! I liked hearing about this.

Glad to hear CPR was administered in time.

For some reason I happened to be thinking of “The Grand Dame of Dish” Liz Smith. She turned 94 on Ground Hog Day.

The last two World War II veterans to have served in Congress left in 2015 but are still Alive. Ralph Hall of Texas will be 94 on a May 3rd and John Dingell will be 91 on July 8th.

George H W Bush is oldest living Vice President (oldest ever was John Nance Garner who reached 98, Levi Morton reached 96)

Oldest cabinet member William Coleman, Secretary of Transportin the Ford Administration will be 97 on July 7th. Three members of Lyndon Johnson’s administration are alive

Broadway’s “Old School Big Three”: Stephen Sondheim hit 87 this month, John Kander hits 90 this month, and Hal Prince hit 89 in January.
