Ah, physical attractiveness. We all disparage its shallowness, yet we all secretly love it.
I don’t think there will ever be any way to remove physical attraction from the human psyche. It’s probably hard-wired into our brains. How would people meet each other in the first place?
The only people I’ve ever met who totally denied the validity of physical attraction were members of the Revolutionary Communist Party. With them, you couldn’t even compliment someone, because that’s “judging people by their looks.” They didn’t think physical attraction had any proper role at all in human relations.
As long as we’re saying who’s beautiful without seeing their picture…I nominate Guinastasia.
What I was trying to get at was not that I sneer at the concept of evaluating the attractiveness of others, or that I am not concerned about my own–after all, I made certain to send in a particularly good pic of myself. It’s just that the group of people we have here tend to judge others by more than that, and that our standards as a group are more inclusive than society’s in general. Which is a good thing, because we have a lot of folks here who you might not see in the pages of Cosmo or GQ but who are nevertheless very attractive people. And while I may be attractive to some people, and I enjoy that very much, how I behave is far more important than how I look in determining my opinion of myself.
Well, all the Bay Area Dopers I’ve met in person are gorgeous specimens. As far as posters I’ve never met, I think Tatertot’s very attractive. Unfortunately, they haven’t put up the pictures of me that I sent in yet, which is causing me to question my own attractiveness. Come on, Shayna, they weren’t that bad, were they?
Next, the wimmins: too too many, it’d basically be a listing of who’s there, so in the Doper without a picture, but I think must be stunning, I’m saying chique.
The men: I’m sure there are some awfully handsome fellas here, but, well, I don’t recall of hand and it’s late so I’m not going a-searching.
Gotta vote for Cyndar. And Valerieblaise takes a nice picture, too – plus, since she signed out of chat I was in one time with a Freedy Johnston quote, she gets extra super-bonus points for musical coolness.
I sent my picture in to shock and strike fear into those that might risk their eyes to look upon it. Does anyone know when I might see it on there?

I took another spelunk through the People Pages to remind me of all my favorites. Of course you all know I have wild crushes on the likes of matt_mcl, Doobeious, oldscratch, ChrisP One Kenobe, Kilgore Trout, Monster104, Imthecowgodmoo (but not because of the picture he has posted, his previous one) SkySlash, pldennison, talkinsquirrel, and xekul. And I’d have a crush on DRY, but he hasn’t graced the Pages with his visage yet. And I do believe should I ever switch teams that Falcon has dibs… (Although monster could give you a run for your money, babe, if for no other reason she produces the most adorable offspring!) I will also admit lusting after ricepad’s shirt.
I mention not a single woman’s name cause I got me a babe so beautiful that there’s no point in looking at other women.
Also, I’ve already been over to the wild side. :evil grin: You can consider it quite the compliment that you’ve brought the experiences back to memory. I think there’s a thread in here…

Actually, I vote for some better pictures. For example: SwimmingRiddles has two pics but they’re both dark as hell and it’s hard to see. I could study those pictures for a week and I probably still couldn’t pick her out of a lineup.
As a rule, judging people’s looks based on one or two pictures never works. Ya gotta see them in person.

There are just so many cute Doperettes…how can a guy choose? It also doesn’t help that I’m at work now, and pages are loading real slow, so I can’t go flipping through all those pictures right now.
