Richard Gautier!
Thrust Spin Dodge Perry Twirl!
Another vote for John Cleese.
“The poor? Oh, you have to meet them!”
Because when other legends are forgotten
We’ll all remember back when things were rotten
Why hasn’t this been released on DVD?
You took the words right out of my mouth. I also agree with Morgyn & tdn for Patrick Bergin - in Europe it even made it to the cinemas.
If you’re going to include the Daffy Duck one, then I nominate Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard as Robin Hood via Q. Or maybe the one in Shrek.
Naw. I really liked Men in Tights.
I grew up with Richard Greene in the TV series- gorgeous man.
Errol Flynn second.
Back when I was in college, the local independent station ran a commercial…
<deep, movie-announcer voice>
“This summer, Kevin Costner is Robin Hood.”
<cut to clip of Errol Flynn throwing his head back and laughing heartily>
It was a promo for their broadcast of Errol Flynn’s Robin Hood.
I haven’t seen the Russel Crowe one yet, so Erroll Flynn is still my favorite, and I’m guessing that probably won’t change.
Boy, that was certainly worth it!
I really wanna know who the two Costner fans are, and why they aren’t speaking up here. Have the courage of your convictions! Robin Hood is all about defending the underdog – tell us what you like about Kev’s version.
/nitpick: Parry.
Or was that a deliberate mistake in the cartoon?
And another vote for John Cleese.
Was this meant to sound dirty!?:o
This gets my vote, too. Bergin was great and Uma Thurman made a very good Maid Marian.
Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin!
Many years ago, Rich Little did a version of Robin Hood that I saw on HBO, in which he played most of the characters. I never saw it again after that first time, but I and the friend I watched it with still quote from it til this day. I certainly remember it being hilarious…did anyone else see that?
For everyone who might have not seen the wonderful film, here’s John Cleese as “the Boss” in Time Bandits.
“Is that, uhm, absolutely necessary?”
It became even more awesome when they recycled it for HBO’s From the Earth to the Moon.
