Who is your favorite Springfield resident and what's your fave phrase?

Hee – it’s accompanied by a hilarious visual.

Abraham Lincoln, “Four score and seven years ago…”

“And when I found out I no longer had worms, that was the happiest day of my life!” I think Ralph Wiggums said it, but I’m not sure.

Favorite character? Oh, that’s a toughy.

I thought it was mama’s pryin’ board. The warshin’ stick is from a brief sequence where Bart imagines he’s become a big fat white trash slob. “I warsh myself with a rag on a stick!”

I’m so incredibly bored of all of them by this point. They’ve all been flanderised to the point of being overdone caricatures of themselves - and they were deliberate overdone caricatures to begin with!

Before that though, it was Jeff Albertson.

Favourite quote: “In this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!”

I’ve always disliked the family though. Homer is a selfish, abusive, dangerous retard. Marge is a passive enabler. Lisa is a condescending, sanctimonious hippy. Bart’s a psychopath (see how he treats Milhouse for a start). Maggie’s off the hook… so far.

“Yes Maggie, we will have a use for you soon. Stay close to your Busybox.”

Troy McClure

"Five days??? But I’m mad now."

Apu:
“Gentlemen, I know the procedure for an armed robbery!”
“Homer…you are the only one that eats those hotdogs”

Character: Ralph Wiggum. It may not be the character so much, but rather that nearly every line of dialog he has is a winner, and instantly a classic Ralph.
(on a rolling bus after Otto jumps off, excitedly): “I’m going to an accident.”

Line: I say Mr. Burns’ “excellent” a lot, but the line that still cracks me up every time I think of it is Marge’s “I don’t mind you peeing in the shower, as long as you’re taking a shower!”

I forgot one of the funniest lines ever, but it’s only funny in context.

When they go to the Flanders’ beach house and Homer, in an attempt to appear nonchalant while buying fireworks, also buys booze, panty shields, two enema kits and porno magazines.

When he gets back, Marge is looking through the shopping bag and says “I don’t know what you planned for tonight, but count me out!”

Kills me every time.

That same episode has one of my favorite lines, from the the Sikh Apu: “Celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it!”

My favorite character is Kent Brockman. So many good quotes!

Favorite phrase, which I use fairly frequently: “It’s a perfectly cromulent word.”

“I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords…”

A SDMB favorite.

“Your baby [Maggie] is brilliant. Why, she could already teach at Florida State.”

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

Sikh? He’s a Hindu.

He means Apu’s counterpart in the beach town, who was a Sikh.

Ah, thank you. Objection withdrawn.

It’s gotta be Homer.

“I don’t wanna be a clown wanna be, I wanna be a clown!”

Another great Ralph classic: “I like men now.”

Favorite character? Fat Tony. “Homer, as you no doubt recall, you were done a favor by our, uh, how shall I say . . . mafia crime syndicate.”

Favorite line, though, is Homer’s: “Marge, you being a cop makes you The Man! And that makes me the woman! And I have no interest in that, besides occasionally wearing the underwear, which, as we discussed, is strictly a comfort thing!”
