Who Played "Cousin It"

Count me as definitely an Addams Family fan. No need to expound upon my reasons because others have already expressed their reasons quite eloquently.

As for Morticia Addams (Carolyn Jones) - I was just a tad too young to appreciate fully, her “babeness”. (A short time later, I hit puberty the very night Julie Newmar appeared as Catwoman on “Batman”).
One thing similar about both characters - each must have been “poured” into their costumes.

Gomez and Morticia are the patron saints of romance.

When I was little, I really wanted to live in the Addams’s house! I loved the play room.

Count me in as a Carolyn Jones fan. She was stunning! FWIW, she was also in the great Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956).

Watching the reruns as a 10-year-old, I gradually became aware that Morticia’s talking in French had the same effect on me that it did on Gomez.

I remember the day somebody compared the decor of my apartment to the Addams Family.

I still want a nice adjoining cavern with an echo that can be switched off and a flock of pet bats.

I guess that dream will have to wait until I have a house.

The sad thing is that the role of Morticia resulted in Carolyn Jones’ devastating depression. I read this in a book about the Munsters a long time ago, and I can’t find it online, but it was an interview with her. She said she felt trapped by the role and the wardrobe, and she was glad when it got cancelled. Here is a good site about Carolyn.

Ted Cassidy felt the same way. He really wanted to be recognized as an actor and not ‘that tall guy with the really deep voice’.
