Who’s been vaccinated?

I’m getting my first dose (of, I think, the Pfizer vaccine) in the morning.

Yeah, but have you found anybody who said that not having side effects is not an indication that your vaccination has been ineffective?

I’m imagining posters reading, “FIZER VACCINE NOW HEAR”, and slowly flashing blue lights.

In what I’m taking as a sign that the world is slowly going back to normal, I just received my first injection in what used to be a Hobby Lobby.

Received the J&J shot 14 hours ago and other than my shoulder being sore (it always is) no side effects. The vax site is the community high school gymnasium. Since I have had allergic reactions to medication in the past I had to wait 30 minutes after the shot before I could go. I’m glad I brought my kindle with so I could read the time away.

Five minutes into my 15 minute post-shot wait. It was weird. I’m not afraid of needles but that was an anxious time in the line up somehow.

Funny that. For me it was a bit of an anti-climactic let down. I wasn’t expecting fireworks but a sparkler would have been nice. Maybe a soft round of applause.

That’s kind of the thing. I got a bit of an adrenaline rush in line and it was nothing.

Yeah, After my first dose of Pfizer I didn’t want to sit with the crowd, so I left. Then, arriving at my car, I began to think, “what if”, so I sat there for 15 minutes.

“Sit right here for the next 15 minutes in case something horrible happens.”

Yeah, no cause for anxiety there. :slightly_smiling_face:

I guess that was in the back of my head. Regardless I am going to use this adrenaline hangover as an excuse to play hooky today. :yum:

Yesterday, my BIL had his second Pfizer at the VA. While he was there, he was able to obtain an appointment for my sister. He ended up driving home, grabbing her, and going right back.

Sis has had no reaction. Not even a sore arm. BIL is laid out. Headache, body aches, nausea, chills, the whole kit-n-kaboodle.

I was told by the nurse that the “doctor” would be in momentarily to give me the shot. I waited 10 minutes and in comes a guy wearing jeans and a sort of purple/orange shirt with embossed velvet pattern begging to be sent back to the 00’ghts; No reassuring white coat in sight. He looked like he graduated from the Granada School of Medicine and “E” Clubbing. I was sure I got a shot of tap water. Until later in the day when the aches came on.

I just got my 1st shot of Pfizer. Took less than an hour including the 15 minute wait.

Appt for 2nd shot made while waiting. 3 weeks from now.

First Moderna shot yesterday. Other than a slightly sore arm, no other side effects. My shingles vaccine shot was worse.

I too was expecting to feel more - well elated perhaps - but after the shot was done it was like no big deal. Waited the 15 minutes with no problems. At my previous large employer, they handed out apples after you got your flu shot; you were expected to eat your apple (or not) and not leave immediately.

I was in college in 1976 when they had a mass vaccination clinic on campus. This shot was also at my college where I’m teaching, but it was much more low key.

I mean the least they could do is spike it with a wee bit of ecstasy. I suspect that might even make vaccination compliance spike up. “That was the best shot of my life!”

So a couple hours after I posted my sore arm became sorer but some acetaminophen eased that.

Tonight I took the band-aid off before taking a shower. It was kind of alarming because it had very wet blood on it and on my shoulder. So I looked the band-aid up and went “whew” because it’s not a typical sop up the fluids band-aid but rather one that helps keep the injector safe from my/your blood.

Never seen or heard of such a thing but it makes sense. I got a snazzy store-branded conventional bandaid with their logo on it. I feel so … deprived

Thanks for posting that. I had such a bandage but didn’t know what it was, never having seen one before.

I had my second Moderna shot this afternoon. I had no notable side effects from my first shot, and hopefully won’t have any from this one either. I’m glad to have it done.

My arm has minor soreness right at the shot location.
My stomach was a little off last night, but one Tums took care of it.
I had some trouble falling asleep last night.
So far that is all for symptoms.

After the second Pfizer shot, how many days before suppose to be at maximum protection?
