I’m sitting here busting a gut as John McCain sings Barbara Streisand’s greatest hits. Funny stuff. He was promoting his “new CD” of Streisand hits and promises that part of the proceeds would be used to damage Alaskan wildlife. He also had a part in a Lifetime movie parody.
Like Bob Dole, this sense of humor was nowhere to be seen in his run for president.
I was watching a bit of SNL and I saw his pic- I couldn’t believe it was him! It’s so bizarre, watching presidential candidates, and former ones, on SNL…I mean, I know they’re a big part of the media. But entertaining (er, somewhat entertaining) media like SNL. Hm.
Was that him playing the digital art teacher on “Wake up, Wakefield”? Hehe. Charlie Rose.
I thought he was great. I wonder if this is going to kick off a new trend of politicians in office appearing on SNL?
I think what this showed, though, was that McCain doesn’t really give a crap about his ‘image’ any more. After all, he said a few things on there that a politician typically wouldn’t say. He knows he’s popular, he knows he’ll win elections for as long as he wants to run, and he doesn’t want to be president any more. So what’s he got to lose?
I also thought McCain was really good last night. The singing bit was classic. I thought he really loosened up, and it was refreshing to see. The Meet the Press bit was fantastic! Of course, I think that Darrell Hammond is the most talented cast member in over a decade…he makes most any skit funny.
I couldn’t believe he was doing it, but I thought he did pretty well. Very creepy as the “personal space invading” husband, and very funny singing Streisand.
