I was cheered up no end by the news of a couple of court cases today.
Nicholas van Hoogstraten, property tycoon and all-around nasty individual, who has previously done four years in the Scrubs for carrying out business negotiations with a hand grenade, is now looking at a possible life sentence for manslaughter.
And, speaking of doing four years, Jeffrey Archer has had his appeal turned down, and will continue to languish in durance vile for perjury. Shame we can’t do him for his multiple crimes against English literature, but it’s still a result.
Maybe it’s mean-spirited of me, but I can’t help feeling a bit pleased that, despite their money and influence, a couple of the bad guys have got what’s coming to them…
I, too, was very pleased to hear that van Hoogstraten will quite probably be spending the rest of his life behind bars. The man’s a very, very nasty piece of work.
This insect was voted Britains worst landowner by the Ramblers Association, having obstructed public rights of way around his mansion, using barbed wire, dogs, trailer units, felled trees, made threats with shotguns, and this against people whose average age is around 60, whom he described as “perverts in macs”
Here is a little about him and his comtempt for the law, and how he has ignored completely the fines imposed on him by the courts.
Hoogstraten is a thouroughly nasty git, whose style of eviction would be envied by the NY mafia.
He made Rackmann, another slum landlord millionaire, seem small and tame, and one wonders just how he got his money to invest in property in the first place(allegedly by selling stamps!!!), he was certainly in the area when the likes of the Krays, Richardsons, Moody, Kenny Noyce etc were needing someone to hold their gains for them.
