Who should be the next host of "Jeopardy!"?

Yes, people should be talking about HIM right now, not the shit storm that’s surrounding him.

Yes, Burton was awful. He may be so used to talking to children that he kept that tone with adults. He sounded like he was talking down to the contestants.

Goddammit, this is funny!

The AV Club has an article quoting one from The Wall Street Journal that some of Ken Jennings’ tweets doomed his chances of getting the job. Tweets like, “Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.”

In case you hadn’t seen it in the other Jeopardy thread or elsewhere, Mike Richards is out as executive producer.

Yes, I had heard a passing rumor to that effect.

A logical next step.

But don’t feel sorry for Mike Richards. He’ll be in huge demand on Fox News and other right-wing outlets. They never tire of the “cancel culture” story.

It could even lead to a full-time on-air job; who would be surprised if it did?

They’re showing reruns of the Tournament of Champions with Buzzy again. He has reinforced my vote for the best choice. His interactions with the contestants is amazing, and he’s so very positive and energetic. I don’t know if he could keep it up year-after-year.

Robert Picardo mentioned he might like to put his hat in the ring.

As first runner-up to my esteemed @StarTrek colleague @levarburton [when we appeared on #TheWeakestLink ], I would be honored to try my hand as #Jeopardy guest host. My experience as a science presenter for @exploreplanets emboldens me to #boldlygo !

Might be my favorite candidate from the Star Trek universe.

Robert Picardo would be amazing, but my vote is still for Buzzy.

An update:

Speaking of Star Trek, have we done the “Patrick Stewart won’t let LeVar Burton host because Captain Picard would never put his crew in Jeopardy” joke yet?

So…yeah.

Maybe they should just give up on the idea of a permanent host and just have a continuing string of guest hosts.

And nobody guests for more than two weeks so we don’t get attached to them.

Rotating guest hosts? Here’s a potential lineup:

Week 1 Pauly Shore
Week 2 Keanu Reeves
Week 3 Jim Carrey
Week 4 Jeff Goldblum
Week 5 Roseanne Barr
Week 6 Woody Harrelson…

Don’t forget Carrot Top

I actually kind of love this idea.

Buzzy!

Turns out LeVar didn’t want the gig after all.

More that he came to terms with it.

“What I wanted was to compete. I mean, I wanted the job, right, but then, when I didn’t get it, it was, like, ‘Well, OK, what’s next?’”

Bummer.
