So Bialik’s anti-vaxx, victim-blaming stances don’t bother you?
They’re certainly not a point in her favor, but no, I don’t regard them as disqualifying to host a TV quiz show.
Does it strike anyone else as odd that replacing a game show host has become a question of national import? Did the nation await breathlessly on tenterhooks when Drew Carey replaced Bob Barker? Or when Meredith Vieira replaced Regis Philbin?
For a while the “guest host”/“next host” thing was novel and fun but, quite frankly, I’ve grown very sick of it. Just name someone and be done with it!
AFAICT, she’s only semi-anti-vaxx, but that and her hawking snake oil on TV means that I’ll never watch anything she’s on, not even very special episodes.
Yep, in the thick of covid is a terrible time to have a celeb host who’s vocally semi-anti-vaxx.

Jeopardy! is in a class all by itself.
To compare Price is Right with Jeopardy:
- Looks like Jeopardy gets twice the ratings of TPIR
- Bob Barker retired versus the sudden death of Trebek
- They didn’t do any guest hosts before picking Drew Carey
But ultimately, the fact that it’s newsworthy is because they did such a horrible job. They could’ve pick pretty much anyone other than Richards and it would’ve been out of the news after a couple days.
I’d like to see it go to Tig Notaro.
Her or Michelle Wolf: “Did you know Otters are rapists?”
…the sudden death of Trebek
Sudden?
Yes. He was sick, but he still died right after filming a season.
I was sure the sentence would end, “…but he still died right after taking his last breath.”

Those other replacements occured before the Great Awokening.
Did any of the people who wanted Mike Richards’ head on a platter because he said “ho” and asked a woman if she’d taken “booby pictures” have a problem with Howard Stern’s being a judge on America’s Got Talent?

But AGT isn’t Jeopardy!
Totally! Sure, Jeopardy & AGT are both “just TV shows”, but different genres of TV (performance vs. game show)=> different fan base too.
As 4the “why r we still talking about this!?” issue => it’s a hella nicer media distraction than all the other issues/topics of the day!

You somehow left out the harassment of and discrimination against two models for being pregnant or the other claims of sexual harassment.
And even without the prior allegations, he appears to have rigged the recruitment process to his benefit and lied about how much involvement he had in it. That’s pretty sleazy all on its own.
have a problem with Howard Stern’s being a judge on America’s Got Talent?
To be fair, Howard Stern is pretty far down on the list of problems I have with AGT and other shows of its ilk.

Masterfully played, Arcite. That’s it Woke Warriors, pack up your placards and balaclavas, napkin up the blood and greasepaint. Arcite deployed the Howard Stern Hypocrisy Gun and that’s game over. Women, you’ll have to get back into the kitchens immediately after your exam to prove you’re really a true woman.
Also, I’m hoping for LeVar, but it’ll definitely be Ken Jennings now.

I have a problem with Howard Stern’s continued broadcast career, so I guess that means I’m consistant.
I don’t mind Howard Stern continuing to have a career, because it means I can continue to judge people’s character based on whether they’re a fan of his or not.
You know who I feel sorry for? Matt Amodio.
Here he is, steadily working his way into Jeopardy annals as one of the best players in the history of the game. Then the show takes a break after all the guest hosts, and when it resumes Matt will be caught right in the middle of this sorry shitstorm!
He deserves better!
