Who should direct "The Donald Trump Story"?

Terry Gilliam.

The Steve Landesberg that’s been dead for ten years?

Either Adam McKay (director of Vice) or Oliver Stone.

I don’t have an opinion about who should play Trump—but it should not be Alec Baldwin.

Indeed, that does dash that idea somewhat.
Bryan Cranston as Schumer instead? Ed Harris?

Changed my mind on Keaton playing Pence and instead get Anderson Cooper.

Had a total :man_facepalming:DUUUH :man_facepalming: moment as to who should direct The Donald Trump Story. No clue why I didn’t think of him earlier:
From Chile, Alejandro Jodoroski has made a number fun-filled films like El Topo, The Holy Mountain, and Sante Sangre, sprightly films for maybe not all famillies but full of spirited hijinks nonetheless.
I think he’s 91 now and not too active - would have to get fluffed up by studio-hired fluffers to sign a contract to get him working again (same technique used on Bukowski one time for some publishing thingie)

Too bad Bergman, Genet, Busby Berkeley, Fritz Lang or Nicholas Ray weren’t still alive.

Whoa I bet Kubrick mighta had a field day - a nice, burly, beefy subject for him to splatter out on to the screen for us (ah but gotta have all that nice, even-symmetry-compostion in all his shots, though)

Dang, missed edit window.

Also kinda curous how Pasolini woulda handled Jan. 6.

How about Almodovar for Melania’s Story?

Goebbels would have been an appropriate moviemaker for a Trump movie! Perhaps Irwin Allen would have been appropriate as he specialised in disaster movies!

I could totally see John Waters directing a satirical version.

Oh, spiffing; I think of the perfect answer, come to the thread, and I’ve been ninjaed by six hours.

It has to be Irwin Allen.

I’m drawing a blank on: who was the little blonde ex-SNL alum who became a right wing wackjob? This was a few years back.

Oh, and, Will Ferrell as Sidney Powell.

You’re probably thinking of Victoria Jackson.
