Who should direct "The Donald Trump Story"?

In support of my contention that the brilliant Cohen brothers should direct this, I attach two exhibits, both from Intolerable Cruelty:

Part of the scene with “the senior law partner”, which I have to think was based on Sheldon Adelson.

Part of the priceless courtroom scene.

I considered saying that if Harris Glenn Milstead was still alive, he’d make a great Trump, and didn’t for whatever reason.

Mink Stole as Melania, perhaps?

^ Patty Hearst, man, Patty Hearst. Heavy make-up, though.

Ken Burns
It needs to start pronto, though before the narrative is controlled by his disciples, though.

Whever does it, it needs a title more complex than “The Donald Trump Story”. It needs something with pizzazz, like

The Incredibly True Story of the Orange Imbicile who Destroyed America!!

Or:

Idiot in The House, or, How “Anyone Can Grow Up To Be President” Became A Curse

It has to be Armando Iannucci. In fact you can sort say he already did. The last season of Veep before he left in 2016, had a storyline where the politicos managed to get Jonah Ryan (most ridiculous over hyperbolic over-the-top ignorant, offensive, narcissist, incoherent, political character imaginable, and a fairly tame Trump allegory) elected to the senate despite his constant gaffs and obvious lack qualifications.

Yes! Another bankruptcy in a new field! Winning! In wide screen technicolor!

I think it should be directed by Leni Riefenstahl with Trump starring as himself once they’re both in the same, umm, place. An Old Scratch production, as it were, and the producer will be calling all the shots, not Trump.

It’ll be a remake of the story of Jesus Christ.

I was thinking Tim Burton or John Watters.

Only if Trump eats the dog shit.

Ed Wood

Max Hardcore. :face_vomiting:

Better question is “Who would watch it?”

Look, people watched Plan 9. People were lining up to see The Room. People would watch anything.

But, in the words of Pee Wee Herman, I don’t need to watch it. I lived (through) it!

Too bad Penny Marshall wasn’t still around to give the subject some soft-lensed sympathy, leavened with ensuing whimsy.

I see Peckinpah already spoken for. Mighta had fun with Jan. 6.

:slightly_smiling_face:
Everybody betrayed me! I fed up with this world!
How is your sex life?

To play Trump:

David Caruso
Robert Redford
Ricky Gervais
Michael Caine

I sincerely think that Michael Caine could pull it off grandly.

D.W. Griffith.

He’s dead, you say?

That’s cool. I’m good with waiting until he comes back.

Gene Hackman should come out of retirement to play Biden

oh heck -

Vicent Gallo can play Corey Lewandowski
Micheal Keaton (seen’im these days?) - Pence
Donald Sutherland - McConnell (too bad Jim Nabors is no longer around)
Steve Landesburg - Schumer
Jane Fonda - Pelosi
Charlie Sheen - Matt Gaetz
