Who should play Spider Woman

Apparently, there is the potential to have a Spider Woman appearance in a big time movie, since Spider Woman exists in the comic book series.

I can’t help but imagine which actresses would be considered and how hot they’d be as Spider Woman.

The cool blend of personality and superhero, and she’d have to fit in to keep the Spidey series the best comic book conversion to movie we’ve seen.

So who would be the perfect Spider Woman?

Too easy. Sonia Braga

Come on – you knew that was coming!

Depends which Spider-Woman. For dark-haired Jessica Drew, I nominate Rose McGowan. Jennifer Connelly would have been perfect, but she’s getting a little too old (and too skinny). For red-headed Julia Carpenter, maybe Alicia Witt (since she didn’t get cast as Mary Jane Watson, she still has a chance to be a hot redhead in a Marvel Spider-based franchise).

Claudia Black would be a good choice, she’s great in any role, drama, comedy, action…

Oh please!

There really is no point discussing it. Past experience has show that if they do make the movie, they will follow the pattern of past comic female roles, and cast whichever flavor of the month actress they can get. Whether she is suited to the role or not.

Reference:

Hallie Berry as Storm
Jessica Alba as the Invisible Woman (Really, is it too much to ask that Sue Storm be the same ethnicity as her brother)
Hallie Berry as Catwoman (sort of).
Kirsten Dunst as a dishrag…,. er Mary Jane.

How about Elizabeth Banks? Smart, hot, sassy. She’s already played J. Jonah Jameson’s secretary in all three Spidey movies, so (depending upon how attached you are to Marvel canon) she could get spiderbit, too.

Sara Ramirez, Just because i want to see her in skin tight lycra :stuck_out_tongue:

Wa wa wee wa! I love the way you think! Too bad the Hollywood suits would never go for it.

Mary Lynn Rajskub? Y’know, for a Spider-Woman with some snark.

Nobody. Marvel has never been able to come up with an interesting character named Spider-Woman, and I doubt if Hollywood can.

Hmmm…I’m going to say Megan Follows.

Just because no one would expect it, and to see if it would work. (You know—just like Burt Rutan’s design philosophy.)

Agreed. Now the Black Cat on the other hand…

Enjoy,
Steven

She was pretty cool in Brian Bendis’ early run on New Avengers, I thought. And oh, that costume!

How about Gale Sondedergaard (if we had a time machine)

She was supposed to be a looker who specialized in cold, creepy women (as in Rebecca)

What was Spider Woman’s origin?

Evidently it’s changed through time:

The Spider-Woman we’re talking about is a sexy Spandex-clad comic book superheroine with similar powers to Spider-Man, not cold or creepy at all.

I know that.

Jennifer Love Hewitt…?

I should play Spider Woman.
