So you’re saying you’d be okay with Liam Neeson?
From Matt Smith to Will Smith. “Daleks invade Earth? Oh, Hell no!”
StG
Only if you want Jaden as a companion.
Followed by 5 million Brits storming the BBC to destroy the show.
[Will Smith] : Opens Dalek exosuit, punches mutant : Welcome to Earth! [/Will Smith]
I think the idea is, if anyone is willing to bet money on it, they will happily give it odds.
Someone elsewhere mentioned James Callis. I think he’d be great.
Another vote for Rickman. The Doctor has been cute n’ cuddly nicey nicey for too long-we need someone with the gravitas of Hartnell and the acidity of Colin Baker.
I think Mads Mikkelsen could have made a good fist of it; he has that slight air of other-worldliness.
I’ve had more fun thinking about my “Oh god , NOOO!” choices though:
Steven Segal
Morrisey
Hugh Grant
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Jenna Louise Coleman.
-
She’s gorgeous
-
Time for a female Doctor.
-
She’s gorgeous
-
There would be two Jennas (as she’s the continuing companion)
-
(you know)
She’s too short and bossy. And her nose is all funny.
Idris Elba?
I happen to like Rupert Grint, just not as the Doctor. He would just be too Ron-ey? … Ron-like? … Ron-ally? Ron.
Exactly. One of the things I like about Smith (who’s my second favorite Doctor, after Tennant) is that he can play both goofy/whimsical and deadly serious very well.
Grint could do the goofy stuff, but I’ve never seen any indication that he can pull off the serious bit. I’d never buy him as a centuries-old Time Lord with all that experience behind him.
He’d be a fun Companion, though.
Amanda Bynes.
Mickey Rooney. He’s about a thousand years old anyway!
Russell Brand! (puke smiley)
Eric Idle!
Alberto Molina
Judi Dench
Adrian Lester
I haven’t noticed you before but I gotta say, new favorite name.
