Who sings this song - titles (I think) "Shades of Jupiter"?

Who sings this song - titles (I think) “Shades of Jupiter”?

Or “<Something> of Jupiter”?

Here are the very tentative opening lyrics that I can remember (“duh” standing for forgotten words):

<Piano intro>

“Duh-duh duh duh in the atmosphere,,
(Shades?) of Jupiter-duh duh here,
Hey hey, hey
Hey hey, hey”

After this opening stanza, a prominent string section fires up.

Some other broken lyrics:

So tell me,
Tell me,
Did you find yourself a shooting star?
One without a permanent scar?

I hear this song on a local classic rock station that plays all kinds of songs covering the last 35 years of rock, up until the present day. You may hear Paul Simon followed by Stone Temple Pilots followed by Queen.

So, I’m trying to figure out if the “Jupiter” song is a new group’s song, or an old album track from a well-known rock act. To me, the voice singing sounds kind of like Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

Now then - what is the title of this song and who is the artist?

THe song is “Drops of Jupiter” by Train (or Trane?).

The first time I heard it I, too, thought it was C.R., but the voice is a bit deeper. I think it was the yea, yea, part of the lyrics that made me consider it so. At any rate, it is a decent song, IMHO.

It’s by Train, the same group who did “Meet Virginia”. (‘Trane’ is the spelling you’ll find on Napster.)
