Who slipped drugs into the Mariner's waterbottles?

I did the happy dance as well.

Now we all sit on pins and needles, waiting to see whether we play the Yanks or the A’s. Currently bottom of the fourth, the score’s 3-2 with the Yanks leading, and Knoblauch singles to center.

As a Mariners fan, I can’t decide who I’d rather the M’s face. For getting to the Series, I’d rather go against the Yankees, because the M’s have had their number pretty much all year. The A’s, by contrast, have been incredibly tough; the record of M’s vs A’s this season comes out something like 13 and 12, the M’s by a nose. So the strategic view is to prefer the opponent you’re more likely to beat.

But as a baseball fan in general, I’d rather face the A’s, because the discussion after the season will be which team was really better, given the incredible tear Oakland went on after the All-Star break. If the M’s lose to the A’s, the A’s will beat up the NL team and nobody will feel bad. If the Yanks pull it out against Oakland and face the M’s, everybody – myself included – will wonder how the M’s would have done against the real second-best team in the AL.

Is anyone else feeling this dilemma?

Well, I have to say the A’s, because Mauvaise will kill me in my sleep next weekend in Redondo Beach if I DON’T!!!

I know that isn’t very scientific, Cervaise honey, but whatcha’ gonna do?

Of course, if the A’s end up playing the M’s, we might end up killing each OTHER. Hmmmmmm…I guess I should think some more about this.

Now, Cheri, I would never do that … but there are plenty of other things I can do that won’t kill ya :stuck_out_tongue:

No, no thinking … just get your mojo working and help me will the A’s into winning this game. We’ll worry about next weekend next weekend.

Gotcha’!

I have nothing constructive, sports-wise, to add to this thread. I just wanted to say
CONGRATULATIONS, CHERI!!
because she’s such a cool lady. Please don’t get killed in your sleep, OK?

I want to say that I was SHOCKED to see the A’s lose tonight. I can’t believe they’re out of it. And I am encouraged, now, because I KNOW the M’s can take New York. We swept them AT NY this season.

Of course, if Boone and Olerud don’t start hitting the ball, It may be a short, one-sided series.

Thankfully, you were wrong, poopah chalupa. It looks like we will get to see the M’s whoop on the Yanks in the ALCS after all. Go Mariners! Sodo Mojo!

Congrats, Mariners fans. That Itchyroot, um, Underoo, uh, whatever guy really is pretty good.

Too, bad, Mauvaise. Sorry the As are out of it. But at least now, ScottiDear, you won’t have to fight with her this weekend. Whew! You’re safe, for now.

Go Mariners!!!
Jim
