fireman, are you sticking up for her so enthusiastically because she is from West Virginia? The words “It’s a WV thing” seem to indicate that, but ArchitectChore is from West Virginia too. He’s not knocking her because of her name and location, he’s knocking her (and he was wrong to do so, unprovoked and in that forum) because of her controversial posting history and because of the frankly moronic views she likes to express. So it’s really not a WV thing.

) was that WV_Woman was nowhere near that thread, in any way, shape, or form.
Worthy of a pitting? Perhaps moreso than not.
What I think is incredible is that the slur was allowed to stand from 2:57 pm CDT on the 9th to 11:50 am CDT on the 10th before anyone thought to say something about it. I don’t know if it just wasn’t a popular thread, or nobody cared, but it just seems really sad to me, you know? 
Yep, I just read some of the links Dooku provided. Guess I just never noticed her thick skull. The OP has little to do with her though,so I’ll just leave it at that.

Well, the volume of threads in GQ is huge. Our mods work hard, but they can’t see everything. Which is why we ecourage the use of the “Report this post to a moderator” link: in this case, it would probably have provoked a quicker response from the staff.

I knew that at some point, I would reveal my disgust for WV_Woman’s continued counter-attack against the fight against ignorance. But I chose a poor time and place to do it. Since I didn’t say this exclicitly enough (for fireman anyway) in the GQ malpractice thread, I will say it now…I retract my statement entirely. I am very sorry.
Instead of “better,” I’ll use “different.” What makes me different from WV_Woman is that when I have nothing to contribute to a thread topic (either because I’m busy (usually) or it s something that’s already been said or simply because I don’t have any insight on the subject), then I don’t post. WV_W, however, often posts any garbage she damn well feels like posting, and I am just one of many people who acknowledge it.
At least I don’t make an extra effort to embarrass myself as WV_Woman chooses to do.
Yes, I’m an asshole on some (I think rare) occasions…this is the first occasion on the SDMB. Since I had already apologized, you are responding like an asshole so I guess we’re even. Peachy! 
You’re right, I don’t know WV_Woman, but I do know what she posts on here…and that is the basis of my judgment.

There have not been any previous issues. My dislike for WV_Woman’s posts culminated for several months and the volcano erupted at a bad time, bad place. I simply got carried away and wasn’t thinking.
And unlike WV_Woman does when she makes a ridiculous comment, I retract my statement.

In the GQ thread, I apologized for having such a terrible comment in the wrong forum. I also encouraged WV_W to post which annuls my thought made in the initial comment. I can see that that didn’t provide enough clarity…so I apologized in my above post and took back the statement.

No, it’s not. The thread in GQ was about doctors in WV…So WV_Woman came to mind. To corollate my point–I have equal dislike for His4ever’s posts.
This isn’t some kind of grudge you have for “outspoken fundies” on this board is it? I personally think WV_Woman was doing very well lately by responding in threads where she posted, although I don’t see many of her posts, but I personally will miss her being around here.
dreamer, I don’t think even those who disagreed passionately with WV_Woman’s opinions and posting style are pleased about the manner in which she came to leave the boards.
Is she Banned? Elsewise I will believe it when I see it. I am not “in” on why she threatened to leave, but will not miss her a bit if she did. Linkie maybe? Gracias.
WV_woman asked for her account to be “nuked”. The closest equivalent we have is to ban the account. It was her choice, I must stress.
I just did a search on WV_woman and, granted only looked through 6 or so posts, but I didn’t see anything that looked too annoying. What has she done?
Kid, she knows right from wrong, and you don’t, unless you follow her brand of religion. And she’s not afraid to inform everyone just what’s correct about her position and incorrect about everyone else’s.
It seems to me she reaped what she sowed. I am just saddened that GQ was the place it happened.

It was more than that, QtM. Her opinions were the only ones a rational person could have, and if you disagreed with her you were irrational and not even worth talking to.
Well, she’s gone now, so there’e not much point to this…but I do want to adress those who think she was “doing better lately”. I respectfully disagree.
In regularly-scheduled anti-december thread, from just one week ago, she pops in with her usual drive-by to observe that “only conservatives get Pitted”. She is corrected by several posters. Several other posters wondered why they bothered, since she wouldn’t respond. She didn’t.
I too regret that the ugly incident had to happen in GQ, but I’m not sorry to see her go.
Why would she ‘nuke’ herself? What a bitch to storm off the boards in a huff like that.
