I freaking love this show. The pure campy joy, good old fashioned values and charm won me over instantly. Monkey Girl, Creature, Iron Enforcer gotta go. I’m gonna head over to Cafe Press and see if they have any Major Victory merch.
Case, the presenter for this show is STAN LEE. So WWPPD* is the correct thing for the contestants to ask themselves. I imagine any contestant who violates the code of the four color superhero is going to find themselves eliminated tout sweet.
*What Would Peter Parker Do?
Missed it the first night – caught a rerun today on Bravo (Bravo?).
I knew I’d love it – I would’ve liked to have seen a few more of the failed contestants.
I vote for Lemuria to run in slow motion every week. (What? It worked for Charlie’s Angels.)
I agree Creature is nothing to write home about.
Major Victory is having so much fun, he HAS to win. He’s really going full on into it.
I think next week they get their costumes tweaked by a real costumer – thank goodness.
Anyone else think FM had to switch to doughnuts because of trademark infringement?
Have I mentioned a Lemuria obsessively yet?
I think of the basic costumes there are some great ones (Feedback, Tyvunculus, Monkey Girl, and Major Victory).
Have I mentioned a Lemuria obsessively yet?
What was with the party thing?
Love the secret lair.

If that’s the case, Major Victory’s in trouble because there are no fewer than three DC characters with that name. Although if he wins Marvel will probably just change his name to Vikk-Taary.
I haven’t been watching, due to the lack of a TV, but a bit of speculation, if I may? We’ve already seen that Stan is willing to pose challanges which aren’t what they purport to be. Well, with the lady who’s locked out of her house, and the contestants have to get past her dogs… How do they know that’s really her house? For all they know, they could be enabling Mystique to infiltrate the home of some innocent victim. It would make a lot more sense: The yard presumably has a gate somewhere in the fence, so she wouldn’t have to climb over or anything, and if those were really her dogs, if she’s raised them right, they shouldn’t present any threat to her (and if she’s raised them in such a manner that they are dangerous to her, that should be a warning sign, too). Will the winner be the one who doesn’t face the dogs at all, but instead asks the neighbors about who lives there?
And while Lemuria is distracting all the other guys, Monkey Woman and I will be over here enjoying some peace and quiet…
I’m not a fan of reality shows but what comic fan could resist seeing Stan Lee host a show. I thought it was hilarious. The Lair! Great. Their own communicators! They giggled like little kids. Major victory is funny with his little dance moves.
Cell phone girl…lame.
Over all though I thought it was pretty funny. As someone said. Campy. I liked how the real people changed to a comic page before the commercials.
I actually like Frequency. I think his costume is kinda cool in a non traditional way. Nexy week they get new costumes. Funny stuff.
I’d love to see a comic with Major Victory as a hero and NitroG (that’s the little green guy, right?) as his sidekick. Love Fat Momma, and Lumeria would make (and probably will be) a good villain.
The best part is, according to a friend of mine who spent some time with them, most of the contestants are genuinely nice people (she says Monkey Woman is the most down to earth, Tyveculus, although very, very nice, is the most, uh, into his alternate universe).
I’m glad the contestant don’t seem to be real nut cases, at least so far. I was afraid they’d pick some reality-challenged people for the show, but they all seem like they’re in on the joke. It would be a little hard to take if the show was laughing at the contestants rather than laughing with them.
Keep your obsession off of my obsession.
If Lemuria goes, I may not make it until the end of the season.
You can get a Lemuria wallpaper at scifi.com. Enjoy!
That’s exactly what I was afraid of. I’m so relieved to see that they didn’t get a super-secret-sanctum full of crazy people.
And I heart Major Victory. The moves … oh, the moves. I laughed so hard I nearly passed out.
Fat Momma is, of course, my second favorite, because donuts give me superpowers, too.
I had to laugh when all but one of her donuts fell off as she was running.
[retcon]They did not fall off, she was using them for energy.[/retcon]
