Who Wants to be a Superhero 8/24

[In regards to PONG] “I’ve never heard of that game… I think he made it up”

CLASSIC!

And, I think, very telling of who will leave.

No no no Feedback! :smack:

Your not Major Victory, you can take your gloves off to pick up a penny!

Damn you all for being able to watch this hours before I do! Do you know how hard it is not to read the threads when its talking about something I like?

<5 year old> :frowning: its not fair! </5yo>

'Twas not the finale.

But wow, Major Victory got the boot? I’m stunned. He seemed such the obvious front-runner. Scripted it may have been, but I will admit to welling up a bit during the call from his daughter. That was so sweet.

Im working on fixing that now.
On Major Victory Leaving… OMG.
The ending got to me… and I had no Idea it would hit me that hard.

Bar none, tonights episodes (Hurmor and Sadness) has to be the BEST reality TV show episode I have ever seen… out of ANY SERIES.

And, its listed as “Season One” not “The Complete Series”. VERY PROMISING

There are streaming unbroadcast exit interviews with all the eliminated cast members at the scifi channel website. The interview with Creature was pretty good. Although some were a little bitter…Levity especially about being eliminated so quickly and with so little justification. Eh, I can see what he means…but they have to get rid of 11 out of 12 contestants.

Lets assume, for purposes of Discussion, and to play Devil’s advocate, that the show is more scripted than it lets on.

Does knowing this take away from the pure entertainment value that is “Who wants to be a Superhero?”

That is to say, even if its all scripted, its been a NICE Exciting ride, and I feel like Ive gotten my moneys worth.

I’ll admit it. I cried like a baby. Stan Lee cried! How can that not choke you up?

Victory was my favorite, he will absolutely be missed. If only for his winning smile.

I like how they culled every single attractive candidate from the pool. I guess it’s Who Wants to be an Ugly Superhero.

You know, I’m not the kind of person who puts much investment in reality shows, but this pissed me off! Why!? WHY!?

He pulled a very close second in the first test, and totally aced the second. And then there was the whole Feedback-Fat Momma hissy drama thing, after which I was certain for sure that Feedback was outtie. And then some punk put a buck in the jukebox at the bar so I couldn’t hear what Stan said during the Culling, and Feedback and Fat Momma are predictably called onto the carpet, and suddenly that! What happened? I was blind-sided.

My only hope at this point is that they’re trying to keep the story arc a little more opaque, and they’re going to let Fat Momma and Feedback get into some heavy #*&% this next episode, only to see a deus ex machina return from Major Victory, who swoops in from a conveniently staged bystander role to save the day and prove his worth, once and for all upstaging their second rate behinds for the surprise win.

My wife and I just watched the last 5 minutes with our jaws dragging the floor. We both picked Victory to win halfway through the first episode and haven’t had any doubts since then.

Our only question was who they would pump-up to give him a run for his money.

I guess Feedback for the win . . . I like him as a person but his powers are lame.

:(.

I think if the show were taking place in realtime they would have no choice but to do this. MJ is BY FAR the fan favorite. I’m thinking that the producers didn’t realize how popular he would be when they were filming the show. I think by now they realize that they’ve shot themselves in the foot and he’ll be used in some capacity.

I don’t normally watch reality tv but haven’t there been shows where the losers went on to be more successful than the winners?

P.S. I’m listening to the Creature interview in the background as I type this and I don’t think I like her anymore. She’s rambling about nonsense and trying to make it sound profound.

Stan actually complimented Feedback’s performance for being more superhero-like at the City Walk thing, mainly due to his efforts to sacrifice his time to make sure he didn’t leave the last clue-giver’s purse in a mess. I don’t remember if Stan said anything about Major Victory’s performance in that task, though while breezed through the challenge, he did so making his typical semi-risque wisecracks the entire way.

Stan did criticize Major Victorys’ performance at the school, though. While he did a great job entertaining the kids, he didn’t really let them know where he came from (like Feedback did) or give them meaningful advice (like Fat Momma did). Ultimately, Stan said he wanted a serious superhero, not a parody of one.

While I also hated to see him go, I can’t help but agree. A Major Victory comic book/movie could only be a comedy. Not to mention that Fat Momma and Feedback’s characters are much more original.

I’m now guessing Feedback for the win. He seems to fit the mold for a Marvel superhero better, and I think he’s buttered up Stan pretty good.

I don’t really watch TV, but after my fiancee used our DVR to tape the first episode, I’ve been hooked on this series.

I also figured that it’d be either Feedback or MV for the win, and now I’m pretty sure it’ll be Feedback. By the same token, Stan’s reason for eliminating MV sounds pretty good to me. He was a fun guy, and definitely likeable… but he was a total ham and a caricature of a super hero. He was kinda like Spiderman without the heroics; great fun, but not really super. I couldn’t really picture him in a Dark Horse book.

I do think that bringing him back in some capacity would be good, but I also think that Feedback deserves to win the show… though his power is too darn lame for my tastes. I thought it was some sort of sonic power. Ah well.

I have absolutely loved this show from day one, upset that MV got the boot,he was by far the most entertaining and would be the best character to base a book on except for maybe Creature.I hope Feedback wins,if fat cow wins I will only buy the book to set fire to it and then extinguish it with my urine.

Fixed.

Pong? his favorite game is Pong? Who’s favorite game could be be Pong? I think his favorite game is killer blood sport 7, but didn’t want to tell that to a bunch of fourth graders, and paniced thinking of a “safe” alternate.

[Stan Lee] MadTheSwine, I’m surprised by you! That’s not the type of attitude Superheroes should have. A Superhero is glad to see other people succeed, and a Superhero would never engage in property damage out of spite. Would Spiderman be upset if Mary Jane got a big role in a movie? No! He’d be happy for her. I’m sorry, MadThe Swine, but I’ve made my choice. Please turn in your costume.

The rest of you, go back to the Lair and get some sleep. You’ll be having a BIG DAY tomorrow.[/Stan Lee]

I’m not really feeling the love for any of the last three when it comes to being actual superheroes. Feedback has the right attitude, I guess, but his supepower pretty much stink. Fat Momma has a great message, but growing to five times her size is her superpower? YAWN Major Victory, like Stan said, a caricature, funny and personable, but would you want that guy defending your city? None of these folks have enough menace, if you know what I mean. One hting about superheroes is that they aren’t just unerringly polite, but that they take evildoers very personally. It isn’t a job, it’s a personal mission. I don’t get that from any of the players. They are quite simply, too human.

  Feedback is cute. I’m rooting for him.
