The wording specifically said “a movie based upon their character”. Nothing about them getting to, you know, act in the movie. I’d be very surprised if Feedback plays himself.
Yeah, I noticed that careful wording, too. Now, who should play Feedback? My husband pointed out a Jim-Carrey-like energy level, but I think that chin begs for Bruce Campbell.
This is, of course, utter fantasy. The biggest star I’ve ever seen in a Sci-Fi movie was Scott Bairstow.
I’m pretty sure that Campbell has been in at least one scifi movie.
Seriously, if Bruce Campbell is in it I’m watching it no matter how bad the movie might (probably will) be.
Cite? I recall the wording to have been, " . . . comic book . . . the winner will also be featured in a Sci-Fi channel original Saturday Night Movie."
I can’t believe so many of you like Fat Momma. Me, my wife, both of my parents, my brother, and my brother’s wife all followed the show and we all hated FM with a passion. The 4 guys at my office who watched the show all hated Fat Momma. Everyone on the other message boards I read hated her (they called her “this show’s Omarosa” - I had to ask what that meant.) She was weasly, manipulative, underhanded, and the fakest and least well-intentioned person on the show IMO. I thought it was universally accepted that they only kept her so long as a foil, until I saw all of you guys saying you actually liked her.
Bruce Campbell was in Alien Apocalypse, though I don’t think the SF Channel was involved in its production, I think they were just the only people who would buy it.
I just checked the site, and near as I can tell, all they promise is “the character will appear in an original Sci-Fi movie”. Which leaves them enough leeway to just show a five-second cameo of somebody else in the Feedback suit halfway through Invasion of the Fifty-Foot Tall Mutant Alien Turnips with Big Boobs.
I don’t think they will, though… If they want to attract any of the audience from the show, they’re going to need the hero in at least a significant role, and probably with the same person. I also have a hunch that Feedback would be willing to work for the minimum allowable stipend, just for the chance to star, which would go over well with SciFi’s budget department.
And as a side-note to those like myself who are without a TV, the final episode is available for free at scifi.com, “for one week only”. I don’t know when that week started, so if you’re interested, you might want to check it out sooner rather than later.
True, and most people I know think that’s exactly what will happen. I don’t see how it makes sense, though. WWTBASH really got people talking. It seems to be the most popular message board on SciFi.com, and the SciFi Channel wasn’t even on the radar of most people I know before this show.
So what gets more ratings, an episode of Super-Hero or the average Sci-Fi Original Movie? I’d say WWTBASH by far, which is why it doesn’t make any sense for them to waffle out of the movie on a technicality.
Too many quotes to get them all.

As far as the final Three went, I think MV, Feed, and FM all got what they “wanted”. MV got to reconnect with his daughter, and was without doubt the best part of the Series. FM got at least one classroom full, and perhaps the entire school to digest her message, if nothing else. Feed got to meet Stan Lee, and as I recall never even uttered the word movie when he was … shall we say …obviously excited… about his prospects and prize.

The Season 1 DVD states “The first Season” and not “The Complete Series”. This implies that at least for now, Season 2 is still on the table.

I wanted FM to win as well, but I think in the end, it was a combination of both FM flat out not attempting the stunts, her asking to be removed in the episode prior, and Feedback simply being easier to market (As well as Feedback looking really cool doing the stunts).
4.I agree that the wording, as stated in this thread leads some interpretation to be desired. I don’t think Sci Fi would insult its customer base. Whats next, Wrestling?
oh. They did?!
Are you sure they were talking about the same person? Large woman, ate donuts on occasion?
Quite sure. Go over to the boards on scifi.com and see what they think about her. She was totally the heel of the show.
You know she solicits donations on website - you can ostensibly donate “donuts” (money) to “fight bullys” (line FM’s pockets?), or you can just straight up give her money to send her kids to camp. Why her kids need to go to camp when school is back in session I have no idea.
It seems to me the “prize” is simply winning the show. You get a novelty comic book out of it, a novelty appearance in a SciFi Channel movie-like gelatinous gum-based product, but the real prize is just being in the show itself.
The interesting difference between this show and other reality shows is the competition between contestants is blow by the superhero setting. Other shows allow people to openly scheme against each other, and even when they cooperate they cooperate only to advance themselves.
But the conceit of this show, that everyone is a member of the same superhero team, makes this impossible, because the challenge is to be the best superhero LARPer/improver. So all the eliminations seem to count more.
This might turn out to be true, which is why I laughed all season everytime they would mention “THE GREATEST REALITY SHOW PRIZE OF ALL TIME™!”
Uhhh, didn’t Survivor give out a million dollars?
Before taxes, yes (isn’t that right, Richard Hatch?).
