When did I say I wanted it to end? Don’t you know that I haven’t been able to check into the SDMB for the past few days and missed the whole “wanting it to end” discussion?
And that would be me. Uh oh, phrasing that in the declarative rather than the interrogative means that I lose, and therefore all of you (by default) win. Congratulations!
Seriously, the increasing number of posts asking why the thread is still open makes me wonder if it is time (or past time) to take away the punch bowl and send everyone home. I had no idea what would happen when I made the OP, but was content to let human nature take its course. It was, as I mentioned earlier (wow, much earlier ) partly inspired by a game played by the two title characters in “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead” by Tom Stoppard. And occasionally I hear Guy Noir and a gangster character (Rico?) indulge in that type of repartee in “A Prairie Home Companion”. When I started the thread here, I had hoped that great ideas and opinions would be discussed, but phrased as questions so as to inspire debate (also in the form of a question). Sometimes it happened, sometimes it did not. Although it has been great fun, I wasn’t until now aware of the SDMB policy as to extended threads. I want to continue here as a member in good standing, and I guess that it’s up to me to at least show myself and get some feeling as to whether you want this to go on.
If you feel that it is time to end this, please feel free to report this post to a Moderator.
