I can buy into Habeed’s explanation; it’s just easier.
Thanks–for some reason I missed that. (I would have been surprised if the writers had made Quinn act with disregard for her safety.)
So it was Dar Adal, and he more-or-less admits it, at least to Saul and Carrie. He’s bartering deals with the enemy. His whole conversation with Saul sounded like Saruman talking to Gandalf, trying to convince him to align with Sauron and rule the world. So I assume Saul/Gandalf is going along for now (/next season) to bag both Dar and Haqqani. Put down the Palantir, Dar!
The season finale was such a boring episode, altogether. There were many answers - to questions that weren’t asked.
The character who was shot was referred to by Carrie as a “PMC” which I assume means private military contractor.
I caught too “location errors” in last nights episode. I like to look for goofs they make when filming in LA and it’s supposed to take place elsewhere.

When Carrie is driving to see her mom, there is one section of road where you can see palm trees waaaaaay in the background.

Carrie’s mom’s house has a certain type of window that you only see on the West Coast in the US. Not sure what it’s called, but the upper sash of the double hung window has a little tale on the bottom at either side. You would not see this type of window in Missouri.
Sort of a third one, but I usually let this one slide because lots of places have hills. But the hills in LA look quite distinct. Did anyone notice how narrow the camera angle is whenever Carrie was driving through a neighborhood? Got make sure no Palm or Eucalyptus trees are showing!
I spent the whole episode thinking “nothing is happening, something is going to happen”. All of those quiet moments were full of menace, in my mind anyway. When Carrie walked Quinn to his car, I was sure someone was going to jump out of the shadows and shoot him.
As it stands, he’ll no doubt get killed in Syria, and we are supposed to breathlessly await season five because Carrie is somewhat cheesed at Saul.
What a yawner.
I agree. I was very disappointed by this episode. I don’t tune into this show for a soap opera. So, her parents are messed up. Mom is a slut, so that is why Carrie is a slut. Big deal. We’ve all got issues. Once she realized that her problems with men are because she misinterpreted Mom’s absence, she is suddenly ready to commit to Quinn?? Am I supposed to think, “Aww, how sweet! They love each other.”

Still seems like it would have been tough for Quinn not to face some sort of responsibility for that. If I were the PMC, I’d be a bit … peeved … that this guy shot me. I might make a stink about it.
