This doesn’t include family members, as I first met Sakura sixteen and a half years ago, when she came down the birth canal.
But I did meet Wonko the Sane and soulsling outside the restaurant at my first Dopefest, and we sat waiting for the others to arrive and chatted about smelly cow-orkers named Dan.

A couple weeks later, we both attended the first NYC Dopefest (if five Dopers constitutes a Fest) at a Russian bar/restaurant in midtown…we got there first, and were joined by manhattan, SaxFace, and Alphagene, in that order.
Chique, at the ViDopes game this weekend. Also in attendance were SpiderWoman, imthjckaz, SilverspaceFire, Purple Pride, lno, and Rysdad. Honorable mention goes to Chique’s grampa, imthjckazson and Rysdadson (wouldn’t that be just Rys?).
The only doper I’ve met IRL is Fillet, at last year’s GSA meeting in Reno. (I only make it out of town and to a “big city” once a year or so and always for something boring like a professional meeting–anybody gonna be in Boston the first weekend of November?)
When I moved to Columbus last year, I met up with IdiotBoy one night when his band (JerkWater Jive) was playing in the Short North. He’s pretty much off the Board these days, but I suspect he’ll be back one of these days.
The first group of Dopers I met was when I shot up to AnnArbor in December, this was also (obviously) my first Dopefest. Once I finally got to the place (raging snow storm), I met tsarina, Juniper200, mrblue92, Persephone, LazarusLong, and BunnyGirl (and BunnyHubby.)
I met Soulsling outside the herban grill across the street from Antarctica in NYC.
Met Gunslinger Labor Day weekend, met Saint Zero and Juliana that Monday when they were kind enough to give me a tour of Jackson, MS during my five-hour layover between Greyhounds in said city.
The first dopers I met IRL were UncleBeer and VileOrb(along with Vile non-doper friend Jess) at the hotel bar right before my first ChiDope about a year ago. I was a nervous wreck, since I didn’t know anyone and didn’t have any idea what to expect. Met about 25 more Dopers that evening, many of whom I’ve seen a fair amount since.
My first and only Doper was Anthracite when she came out for my wedding.
ExTank, on the elevator to Billdo’s place before the May NYC Dopefest. Then, in short order, Billdo, Pucette, vix…were there a couple more people who went to the Museum of Natural History? That evening I also had the pleasure of meeting Maeglin, SuaSponte, Uke, and Geobabe, among others.
Proud to say that the first dopers I met were those MPSIMS-hos, Persephone, Cranky, Shirley Ujest, and Milo. At the time, I was a 20 post newbie, but they spoke to me nonetheless.
Silo, met him about 2 years ago at our ultra-micro-dopefest just he and I showed up.
Lessee…the first Doper I met doesn’t hang here anymore. Her name was saraam. Met her at the first Michigan Dopefest, in January 2000. She was with her sister.
I don’t remember who showed up next, but that night I met BunnyGirl, Shadowfox (and hubby),ZenBeam, UncleBeer (and his friend Sucellus), and…I swear I’m forgetting someone. :eek:
