I think, and I might very well be mistaken, but I seem to remember that I met Rasa and oldscratch before the big NYC January Dopefest.
Man my memory is shot…
Silo gave me a lift to my first Dopefest, so it’d be him.
It was Mullinator, Mjollnir, Rosebud and whomever else was at that place in Peachtree Center back in June 2000. They didn’t really know me, I didn’t really know them at the time; I barely remember it at all, except of course for meeting Rosebud.

They are lovely, are they not? (For once, I’m not going to take the bait. Somebody call Ripley’s.) Those three are among the first Dopers I met, at a DC 'fest last year. Others present were John Corrado, Lucretia, Bluesman, Weirddave (tho he wasn’t capitalized back then), Wendell Wagner and Attrayant (Opus at the time).

Also in attendance in Altanta, June 2000 were StarTrekker777 (I know I’m not spelling that right :(, but I haven’t seen him around in a while and I bet if I do a search on “Star” to get the right spelling, I’ll be here all day) and a couple of friends, like my Kat, who came along for the hell of it.
Then there was the NYC January 2001 Dopefest, featuring a whole lotta people I barely got to speak to as well as some I actually managed to chat with for more than three seconds. The latter group included Billdo, Silo and Zebra. I also recall sitting near delphica and I think Sua Sponte at Chumley’s,a brief chat with Green Bean, being introduced to quietgirl via the picture andygirl passed around and having none other than Cecil Adams himself attempt to get into the ladies’ room. While I was in there.
UncleBeer and I had dinner and a handful of beers about a year or so ago when he was in town on business.
Since then I have met spoke, Fiver, and Lsura at our lame attempts for Atlanta gatherings. (Not lame people, but lame that we can’t ever get a large rowdy crowd together.)
I knew PuRpLe PrIdE and Spider Woman, before they, or I, were members of the SDMB.
So that means the first doper I met irl, was chique, after Spider Woman found out that another Doper lived in St Cloud. We had dinner with her and talked about the SDMB.
Of course, this was before she became a fugitive from the law, and changed her name from sandyr.
