Who would you most like to meet???

First, let me thank all the teeming millions who said they’d like to meet everybody, as a somebody I fall into that list… never knew I was so loved.

I would also like to meet you all, but in particular:

Frannie, your team won today!

I didn’t say that to be mean or insulting, you know. I live in LA, and we don’t have too many Browns fans out here. Then again, we don’t have too many Tampa Bay Lightning fans, or Minnesota Wild fans. Let’s face it–expansion teams don’t usually have a big fan base outside of their local areas.

And besides, at least you HAVE an NFL team.

Teams that tend to have a lot of non local fans tend to be teams with cable (Cubs and Braves), or teams from a VERY large metropolitan area, or teams that have been very successful over a period of years (Cowboys, Yankees).

We DO have a LOT of Indian fans, or so it seems. I meant to e-mail you a couple of weeks ago when I went to an Angels-Indians game. There were more Indians fans there than Angels fans (though, unlike the time I went to an A’s-Indians game, no one brought one of those drums).

Some guy with a hell of a lot more nerve than I’d ever have brought a LARGE Indians banner and began parading up and down the aisles with it. People threw food at him.

Funny moment–the same fan later went up to the Angels Bullpen (our seats were right next to the bullpens) and screamed at Troy Percival (who, as you know is INFAMOUS for doing poorly against the Indians) and screamed at him:

“Hey, Troy—MOTHER’S DAY, 1995!” :eek:

I’m an Angels fan, but that made ME laugh.
