Yes, I’m certain this has been done before, but being on this board is truly an experience. You meet people you wouldn’t necessarily run into in your day-to-day life. There’s some interesting people here, some not-so-interesting-people here. I don’t get a chance to mention to some dopers how they’ve affected me and how I adhere to their advice, think they are cool or think they are off their freakin’ rockers. I’ve never been to dopefest, but I do want to go one day, but even then, it’s unlikely that I’ll meet these folks.
Please don’t turn this into a popularity contest…aybe just mention some dopers you admire, laugh with and whatnot and state why you’d like to meet them. Maybe it will be an enlightening experience.
Now, here goes:
Slainte: She’s very easygoing and seemingly light-hearted. I think she’s incredibly cool (I remember the picture incident). But most of all, I realize I don’t really have enough friends in the world and I would love to spend time drinkin’ at the local biker bar with her. Oh, and she’s smokin hot…
Gobear He seems very insightful and has had what appears to be an interesting life so far. He often is the voice of reason in some odd/stressful disagreements. I always read his posts and frankly, I’d just like to shake his hand.
**Sauron and Aries28 ** A theme here certainly…both seemingly nice folks. An incredibly intelligent, articulate couple who are terribly in love with each other. They are both Hi-larious.
Zanshin: I don’t think I ever read anything by him that could be considered mean or cruel on this board. He seems like someone I would love to just spend an afternoon with drinkin beer and shooting the shit… I’d also like to shake his wife’s hand and say congrats on landing a great man (who’s hella hot).
And last but not least, someone who might surprise you…
I’d like to meet ** Diane**. It seems to me that the people who like her a lot are people that know her off the board either IRL or from Livejournal or the like. Sometimes I think she comes across as harsh and mean on the boards, but I bet that some of that is tempered by other qualities that aren’t so readily apparent on these flat boards. She has with that can kill you with a rapier thrust and a biting sense of humor. I suppose if we met IRL, we’d either really like each other or we’d end up in a throw-down involving hair-pulling and possibly mud wrestling.
