I just subscribed my friend kluge to be a charter member. It took me a few weeks, but I slowly convinced him to become a Doper. I think he might be my only recruit for a while, though, since most of my friends who would be at all likely to keep coming aren’t particularly interested yet.

My husband joined a year or so ago, and I just paid for his membership, but he never took to the boards. I still love him… 
I’ve tried to get some other friends interested, but to no avail. Fine. They can be like that!
If I didn’t recruit the OP, I certainly got him interested:) I also got two friends from another board (who have posted a grand total of five times, maybe), two of fizzy’s friends and my mother. Oh, and a friend from college. That’s 6 or 7.

Absolutely no one! I’ve told many people about the Dope and haven’t gotten a single one of them hooked so far. It’s an odd phenomenon.

I’ve tried to get a bunch of people interested, but the only success I’ve had was Keith Berry, and the last time I talked to him he said he wasn’t going to hang around because the board was going to paid subscriptions. Not that he doesn’t think that they’re reasonable, he just doesn’t like the board that much.
Everyone else I’ve talked to about the board I’m pretty sure would like it, they all do online boards and chat already, but not a single one of those penile implants has ever bothered to drop by. Bah.
My wife, kittenlm. She doesn’t post much, but when she does, she usually has something quite useful to say.
I got two friends to sign on awhile ago, but don’t believe they have more than 20 posts between them. I would be astonished if either had subscribed as a Charter Member.
Well, my 13-year-old daughter signed up for a guest membership, but her father hasn’t fixed her email addy yet so she can complete her guest registration. She wants to be a Doper, and I believe we’ll be forking over the bucks for a Charter Subscription before too long.
I am trying so hard to figure out how to get one of my sisters hooked. I have four sisters, but the one who is 2 years older than me is a Doper at heart, but she just doesn’t know it yet! Probably, I have to start emailing her links to the threads that I know would crack her up!
I’ve only lured one person (my sister, cub mistress), but she posts more than I do and is funnier, so I consider that a huge success.
I’ve gotten Doktor Fluff, The 27th Evil, UndeadCleopatra, and some other random people.
And, although he doesn’t post, being pre-literate, I recruited Bomb Bay Doors, by virtue of giving birth to him. Talk about recruitment!

A guy I work with has gotten interested through me, and he registered as a member but I don’t think he has ever posted. I think I did manage to convince him to fork over the $4.95 to be a Charter Member though.

My sister is a lurker here, but is not a member. This place is “too liberal” for her.
I’ve recruited two people, thesquirrelfish and redmosquito120, who’ve added a grand total of five posts, I think (those names could be wrong, BTW).
It was very strange when redmosquito came up to me in class and asked me, “So do you think bjørn is trolling?” It took me a good three minutes to connect something from a high school classmate to the SDMB drama du jour.
(That’s not really the question she asked me, as the topic isn’t really anything that needs to be rehashed, and I think the involved parties are still here.)
All three of my siblings. Anita Vacation is a regular around here, but Harald Bluetooth and jimbobboy, despite having had their memberships paid for by their loving sister, haven’t been posting nearly enough. Which reminds me, time to fire off another couple emails…muttermutteringratesmuttermutter
