No threadshit intended, more of a friendly poke, but Welcome, iPhone Users and iOS Developers, to Fragmentation. We’ve saved you a seat!
My iPhone 6 arrived today.
I decided to get the 6 instead of the 6+ after seeing how huge the 6+ was - it’s just not pocketable.
The 6 is pretty sweet. It’s super fast, and enough bigger than my 4s to be a really nice upgrade. The fingerprint sensor is great. I’m really looking forward to trying out Apple Pay.
I’ll have to see if “Hey Siri” (hands-free Siri activation) works with my Pioneer AVH-P4400BH - if it does, that would solve one of the most annoying problems in an otherwise awesome hands-free setup.
OK, “Hey, Siri” works like a charm with my hands-free setup!
Yesterday I checked out the iPhone 6 at a Sprint store, and was interested to see that Apple has increased the size of the display compared to earlier iPhones. I know I’ve said elsewhere that I didn’t want to go to anything with a smaller display than what I use now, but the 6 actually has a slightly bigger display than my current Samsung Android device.
I’m intrigued!
Wish they’d bumped up the camera resolution, but…
I’m intrigued!
I’ve experimented with a friend’s iPhone6 and the camera is clearly superior the one in my Note 3.
Megapixels haven’t been relevant to image quality for years, worse, if they cram an unnecessary amount of them onto a small sensor, it only makes low-light performance worse.
I did play with the camera bit when I was looking at that iPhone 6 yesterday; that’s one of the things you can usually do with a display phone. I was fairly impressed; the finished pictures may be better than my S2 even though the resolutions are the same.
I’m sort of going off the Note 3 anyway since I’ve discovered notepad-type Android apps and styluses you can buy for a couple of bones at Office Depot. Those are good enough for my handwriting needs.
