Well, if the Sooners are going to repeat, they might need to get a quarterback that can complete a downfield pass.
Okay, so I missed the entire past three college seasons, for the most part (overseas you get the NFL, but not the NCAA – not sure why), but as I understand it Oklahoma won the shooting match (didn’t their coach used to be the Gators defensive coordinator when they won their [sub]only[/sub] title?) Since Florida hasn’t done anything to earn it between now and then, why are they rated number 1? I think the polls should be carried over from the previous season and then let them win or lose or at least play some games before the posturing starts. But then the sports magazines wouldn’t be able to sell as many issues if they didn’t introduce something vaguely comforting yet vaguely controversial.
So, for me its Okladopa until someone knocks them off. Let them have the preseason pressure. Let’s see if Florida can beat Mississippi State or Florida State, or any other state before rating them higher.
Another Hokie shedding a silent tear…
On the other hand, Tech’s best friend, the BCS ratings system, stands to pay off again, should Miami remain strong and VT manages to knock ‘em off last game o’ the regular season. Yeah, my crystal ball sees that far, it’s just all blurry from the crack smoke.
Worse, my backup favorite, the Horned Frogs, dropped one to Nebraska. I’ll have to wait until next year for the Greatest Cinderella Story Ever.
No one ever “wins” it. The whole thing is a sham until there is a playoff.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Ya, you betcha, dem ferocious Gophers will jist eat dem udder teams up.
Michigan, dat der Little Brown Jug is comin home.
Wisconsin, Paul Buyan’s Axe will be back in da Cities.
Iowa, well you can keep Floyd of Rosedale, we don’d have much use for a bronze Pig.
You know why the wind blows north to south in Minnesota?
Because Iowa sucks.
[sub]hey, quitcher laffin dar, we’ll beat UL Lafayette[/sub]
Ask me in October. Too much strange crap can happen at the start of the season.
CSUN MATADORS!!
[sub]Well, I have to root for my school, ya know.[/sub]
Yeah, but how about that defense (3/4 of the game, anyway, but what can you expect with a 41-14 halftime lead. By the time UNC got it together, the game was over), offensive line(other than the INT, All-American Peppers was a non-factor all night), and special teams (other than that one punt). Give the lad time; God knows he’s got enough support to bring him along until he’s ready for the 'Horns.
[sub]I left at halftime. Most everything I saw looked awesome.[/sub]
