I miss @k9bfriender. He left because he felt the discussions here were bad for his mental health. I hope he’s doing well, whatever he’s up to. But i miss his perspective.
Yeah. Sometimes I found him infuriating; but sometimes I really liked his posts.
I’m wondering what happened to @Tranquilis. He hasn’t posted since 2020 when he posted a tribute to @TubaDiva. He joined just five days after I did back in December 2000, and posted regularly until 2017.
I always enjoyed his contributions. I hope he’s doing ok.
Tranquilis is alive and well and posts to Facebook regularly. I’m not sure why he doesn’t post here, but he’s fine.
@Dr.Strangelove has been conspicuously missing for close to a year now.

I also wonder what happened to @manhattan. He also last posted in @TubaDiva’s memorial thread, but hasn’t been seen since.
Their main posting stopped in 2005. Then there were 4 posts in 2014, one post in 2018, and 4 posts in 2020. So, the absence isn’t exactly surprising.

For some reason the mention of @Cervaise made me think of @manhattan. Maybe because they both were old-timers who predated me on the board.
I didn’t realize that @manhattan stopped posting so long ago, and that he only briefly returned due to @TubaDiva’s passing. He was pretty prolific when I joined as well as serving as a moderator for some time.
I miss Una Persson and Fierra a lot, and hope they’re safe and okay. Given how horrible their state has been for trans people, I worry a lot.
manhattan posted pretty regularly on the Giraffe Boards (as ryevermouthbitters) up until 2020. I miss him as well.
Yeah, I’ve always liked him - he’s a pretty consistently value-added poster. But he was here as recently as March and has taken a several years-long break before. I’ve just assumed either his life got complicated or something like the chatter around the Iran War got a little under his skin and he decided to take another, long or short. Hopefully nothing permanent, but sometimes people just need a little time away from that one senescent little corner of the internet.
So far I’ve only ever gotten momentarily pissed off enough to take a few days. But you never know. Maybe one of these days I’ll finally discover that up-until-now-mythical last straw and disappear down a rabbit hole for a year or three. Or more likely at my age now, I’ll just stroke out

I hung out with Manhattan, oddly enough in Manhattan, at a Dopefest about 25 years ago. He’s a good guy.
Yes, sadly, Cervaise decided to leave after the Iran war chatter turned toxic. We DM’d about it a little. I hope he’ll decide to come back at some point.
I was thinking the other day about @Heart_of_Dorkness, who was always thoughtful and funny and I dunno for some reason I felt a kinship with her. Turns out it’s been seven years since her last post, which was a delightfully groanworthy pun.
I wondered whatever became of her.
I wondered if you two knew each other or were related. 
If anyone ever manages to gather together all the pieces, Dorkness will reign.
