Who's most likely to betray you?

Is it I?

Probably my ex-brother-in-law Kevin.

Because he’s a damn yankee.

Can’t trust those yankees.

My little brother (22) who hasn’t learned how to think of others yet so i’m guessing the betrayal will go like this:

I give him the money to go pick up whatever it is I need for the dinner. He comes back empty handed with the excuse of “Uhhh yeah, I uh lost my wallet”. He has actually done this to my mother and sister on previous occasions.

HEY! I’m a brother-in-law, my name is Kevin, and I’m a yankee. And you sure as hell can trust – on second thought, nevermind…

My oldest niece, Laura. She’s eighteen and already has a criminal record, and steals from my dad and step mom, her grandparents, regularly.

The only one likely to betray me is that treacherous weasel staring out of my bathroom mirror. Nasty piece of work he is, always ready with a waffling compromise or whiny excuse. Just have to face the bastard down each morning and get on with it. Fortunately he seems to be aging faster than me…

My college friend Mike - Never grew up past high school, maturity wise. Still does drugs, was recently on house arrest (electronic ankle bracelet and all) because his room mate was selling crack from their apartment (“I didn’t know he was doing it!” Yeah, right). After silence from him for about ten years he tracks me down (thanks, internet!), and after chatting back and forth via e-mail for about a week he tried to borrow a couple hundred bucks from me - I MAY have considered it (OK, no, I wouldn’t), except he had told me all his legal problems FIRST.

The Republican Party has already betrayed me; there isn’t enough left for anyone else to bother with.

Have. I have a good mom. She’s getting to be back to her old self again. Modern medicine is amazing. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear about it before.

Mike K.

Not a bad guy, mostly. But he’s a solid-gold contol freak. He has a hard time understanding why anyone would do something anyway but the way he’d do it.

Uncle by marriage. He doesn’t like me, I don’t like him. He’s a salesman type, boasts that he never reads any fiction (but has a room filled with motivational and self-help books), and gave me a huge amount of shit for making a couple of international phone calls when I was staying with them for a couple of days. I’d said before I made the calls that I would be paying for them and he still complained to my aunt about it. Asshole.

Second in line would be my younger sister. She’s flakey and self-centered and might justify it to herself if the betrayal didn’t appear particularly serious on the surface.
