Don’t be bummed out! Look: yarn!

Yummy! I’m tackling socks as my next project…although I might have to look into some sort of head scarf thing. Hopefully not.

I’m not renewing and have, in fact, decided to leave the Dope. The administration is the main reason, but I also am turned off by some trends I’ve noticed among the membership. So Saturday will be my last day here.

Ack! Say it ain’t so…
</Secret Admirer>
I’m probably going to reluctantly resubscribe. I don’t like that I feel like I’m rewarding poor performance, and I’m growing more and more annoyed at the troll witch-hunting pack mentality here that drives away new subscribers that ask any odd or controversial questions. But, I spend pretty much that much on lunch most days, so the path of least resistance is to just resub.
Oh, in my shock and dismay at the loss of the lovely Miss Purl, I forgot to comment on my own situation. I renewed a few days ago. Even though I don’t post often, I love it here and want to support the board. I hate ads, but I love my “Charter Member” tag more than anything, so that was a contributing factor. BTW, have they confirmed that they’ll allow us to keep the Charter Member tag once the switch to free posting is complete?
Speaking of personal blog sites, I have been a very active user of Twitter over the past several months. If any of you that are leaving would like to keep in touch, feel free to follow me there…my page is listed in my profile.
I don’t have to decide. I let me subscription lapse a couple of different times, so I’m good until November. Plus, I already read **Miss Purl’s ** LJ.
I’m letting my subscription lapse. I’m not leaving though. I shall continue posting as soon as the SDMB switches to free posting.
Tell me, did you get any notification that it was time to renew or were you keeping track?
I did not get a notice and I renewed 2 days before my subscription would have expired. My e-mail is up to date.
I just renewed. If it wasn’t for this post, I would have forgot about it. Given the amount of time I spend on this board, the renewal cost is fine.
I’m a Charter Member for at least another year (or until it doesn’t mean anything anymore.)
Tuckerfan, I’ll be sorry to see you go. ![]()
Piffle. If the Dope goes to free posting, I’ll be back.
Not that I’m a big enough poster to really matter but if anyone cares I’m staying.

You’d better, or else there will be consequences! Yep, the kind of stuff that demands italics will happen.
I expire on 7-25-08, I won’t be renewing.

But you know how pharmacies work! And you live in Florida! And you carpool with Shibboleth to Dopefests! And you told me not to stir Turkish coffee!

Heh, all of these things are true. ![]()
I paid for another year about 2 days ago, wanted to make sure I didn’t forget in the preparations to go off to Pharmacy school in a month. I might be mostly a lurker, but I spend almost all of my time on the internet here, and when I see a post I want to respond to, I would miss the ability. Plus, I probably won’t have any money for the next three years anyhow, so better to spend the $7.48 when I have it, vs. spending $14.99 when I don’t.
I am sorry you and *RickJay ** will both be on hiatus until the free to post goes through. I look forward to both your posts, especially in Baseball and Football of course. I guess it is less than a year before **PRR ** is back at least.

I should point out that I did personally E-mail Ed Zotti and Jerry Whatshisname (I’m sorry, I really do forget his last name right now) and Mr. Zotti’s answer was, while not entirely perfect, at least something. It still wasn’t very specific, but I did get a personal response and assurance it was being done, with a timeframe, which was my minimum requirement for renewing, so I’m renewing.

Well that is cool.
You can all rest easy. I renewed a month ago.

Wow, you’re from Cincinnati? All this time, and I had no idea (guess I don’t really pay attention to such things). I’m from West Chester. Howdy Neighbor!

I believe it’s “Thetechguy”.
(and thanks everyone for keeping things civil, and you’re welcome to those I reminded)

Please say it ain’t so! There are only about a half-dozen of us farm folk here as it is. I’d hate to see you go. If feeding all those calves is getting you down, maybe I could arrange some help or something…
I renewed a few days ago, so I’ll be around.
