You’ve made it clear that your decision to leave is based on the current nature of the Board rather than finances, but were it the latter case then a continued Charter Membership could readily be guaranteed.

I renewed a few weeks ago. I don’t want ads, and it’s worth the money for me to avoid them and keep my CM status (such as it is).
The SDMB has gone through its ups and downs–here’s hoping we an infusion of new blood with the free posting. I’m sorry to see that so many people appear to be leaving, though.
I re-upped a month or two ago. I can’t see how they are going to make more money off of ads, I can’t stand ads and I never click on them so they get more out of me this way anyway.
Oh, I don’t expect anyone to read it. I’m a little surprised that anyone does, quite frankly. But if you’ll miss my posts, well, there I am, talking about basically the same things I do here, more so.

I renewed last night.
I don’t want to see ads plastered all over the SDMB. I tolerate the Google ads because they are relatively unobtrusive, and know that the more obnoxious ads could be easily blocked for free - but I would like to support the board’s continued existence.
Tell me, did you get any notification that it was time to renew or were you keeping track?
Cause, I’m not keeping track, I’m kind of counting on a notification.
If you tell me you didn’t get one, I’ll check a little closer on when I should be renewing.
