I love this demo and I am definitely getting this game when it comes out. Blasting Rebels and Stormtroopers alike with Force Lightning and Force Pushes is just too much fun.
I wrote a little mini-review of the demo for my blog, but this is my favorite part:
More fun with The Force is had as it’s possible to bend a loose girder in the hangar and hook a flying TIE Fighter. For that matter, it’s also possible to pull computer monitors off of the walls and throw them into ammunition boxes (and parked TIE Fighters!) to create some nice Dark Side carnage. You can even hit enemies with Force Lightning after they are killed to make their body twitch.
The demo is definitely on Xbox Live now and I think it should be up on the PSN now too.
This is the most fun ive had in a long time. I was swinging a rebel fighter in the air with the force, just toying with him, when i noticed the storm troopers were still shooting at him up in the air! not only that but when i casually swung him near some railings he held on to them for dear life.
Gah! It takes Live Gold. And I can’t lay my hands on that last ‘free month’ card from the last warrantee repair. (And things are tight enough budgetwise that upgrading to gold right now would be…unwise.)
I didn’t think I would like it at all but I think I will buy the game. Especially like the force grab impale move. Hate the fact that one swipe from your light saber doesn’t kill the enemy.
I am a bit disappointed (but not at all surprised) to learn that this behaviour will not carry over to the Wii. (It’s driven by Euphoria, which will not be featured in the Wii version.)
Still, the Wii remote seems a natural for the game, and it’s the first title I’m even vaguely excited about.
Ah, jeez. Am I gonna have to buy this game twice? Once for the game controls and once for the graphics and physics/AI?
I did try the demo on XBL. That’s easily the most fun I’ve had in a Star Wars game in a long time, and I like most of them. Smashing doors apart with Force Push just felt so freaking badass.
