Who's watching Kidnapped?

This is one fine show. The first two episodes are being repeated over the weekend (NBC).

Intricate plot. Good actors – even the kids. Dialogue you can’t predict. Thoughtful direction, with interesting camera shots. Decent music, but not overbearing. Twists and turns that feel like they’re integral to the story, not tossed in to keep viewers guessing.

I’m really looking forward to the next episode, and if it keeps up like this, I’ll want the DVD.

Yup. I’m with you, I love this show too. Ricky Jay, Jeremy Sisto, Timothy Hutton, you gotta love that.

How long do you think it’ll be before

Leopold’s talent of holding his breath for over 3 minutes will come in really handy?

Is Jeremy Sisto the “recoverer” dude? I like the whole “not good with people” type.

That’s him. He used to be on Six Feet Under.

I read the book once. I liked the part where David was stuck on the island…

And then found out that at low tide he could walk off.

What?

Well, me, so far. But for a while after posting that thread, I thought I might be the only one. Glad to know there are at least a couple more.

I’ve enjoyed the first two. Only problem is that I’m also interested in checking out “The Nine”, which I believe is airing in the same time slot, over on ABC after “Lost”. Damn and blast…

But Kidnapped has kept me interested so far, and I like how Sisto portrays his character.

In episode two, I liked the subtle little imparting of info on his character where…
Latimer King was telling the new guy (who had just shot the thug who had the gun to the daughter’s head) about when he was in that position. How he had a gun to his head, and then heard a shot, which took out the baddie. How the shooter had been a rookie, first day on the job.

Then after Knapp arrives and King leaves, the new guy asks Knapp, “Have you ever…?” (rest of sentence understood).

Knapp: “Yep. First day on the job.”

Nice.
(Sorry about the spoiler tag – just making sure. I didn’t know if this thread was intended only for those who have seen the shows or not.)

Oh, another random thought. Somehow, I’m guessing the main character’s name was a deliberate choice, given the show’s title and theme.

Kidnapped.

Kid-Knapp-ed.

Does it have pirates in it?

Monstre, cool about the name. I didn’t pick up on that. (I miss a lot.)

GuanoLad, no pirates. Sorry.

I haven’t read the classic book. Anybody know if there are any similarities or in jokes relating to it?

I wish the show had a different title, but I can’t think what it would be.
