Who's watching trump's Address to Congress tonight (3-4-25)?

Who are they removing?

I sure hope so!

I think that was Rep. Al Green they removed.

~Max

Has it been reported what he said? You go, Rep. Green!

I don’t know if he said anything, he refused to take a seat while the President was speaking. Shook his cane at the podium while being escorted out.

Of course, the Republicans were all standing and clapping and such on the literal other side of the isle.

~Max

Maybe so. I’m kind of not looking at the screen, for mental health reasons, so when I looked up he was waving his walking stick and yelling. I was almost hoping he’d a few noggins on the way out.

Yeah, no, can’t do it anymore. I’m out.

There is SOOOO much here for the oppo speech after this but I would bet dems will have written some bland crap that only touts themselves and is weak-sauce.

I hope not. As I mentioned upthread, the Dem rebuttal is being given by our new Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed she does a great job. But I’ll have to find out tomorrow- not watching through the whole thing to find out tonight.

And Al Green becomes the frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic nomination.

While I’m glad to see a D with a spine show up I hope your prediction is off by miles.

Maybe he can unify the party with a rendition of “Let’s Stay Together”.

Damn, I could not imagine standing up on national TV after being introduced as a victim of deepfake porn. That takes courage.

~Max

Uh… What?

The First Lady championed a law to make such deepfakes a federal crime, and the President introduced one of the victims who was sitting next to her.

~Max

I had to take a break. To watch these repugnant dolts and the head dolt, knowing they have the country in their tiny, greasy hands is more than I can bear.

JD Vance looks like a werewolf trapped halfway thru a transformation.

I started a thread a while back ago asking if a congress member can be removed. And the consensus was they could not. Per the Constitution.

So what’s going on here?

The President didn’t remove the member, the sergeant at arms did at the request of the chair. The same thing can happen in an ordinary session of Congress, most famously in the 1800s when a fight broke out and Charles Sumner was nearly caned to death. It would fall under the power of each house to make its own rules and punish its members for disorderly behavior.

~Max

Does anyone wish their was reporter commentary this time? A-hole isn’t saying anything new, so I wouldn’t mind a sane voice talking over him.
