Why am I not supposed to care about Hillary's health?

The idea of putting a 70 year old, Trump or Clinton, in charge of the country is pretty silly as it is. I think it is insane to elect 70-year-olds to a job that requires so much energy and mental agility. You wouldn’t hire a 70-year-old for any other type of job that they had never held. Why does it make sense here?

On top of that we’re being asked to give them this job without any idea of if they’re truly healthy, or as healthy as a 70 year old can be. What more in the case of Hillary she has had a number of problems such as blood clots, a probable stroke, seizures all of which can have a profound effect on the mental capacity of a person.

Yet the campaign keeps trying to act like anyone who question’s her health is just a crazy conspiracy theory looney. So why is it I shouldn’t care about her health?

You can care about it. It’s the folks dredging up old photos and arm chair diagnosing her with degenerative illnesses that are the problem. If you eliminate the people spouting conspiracy theories based on old video of her being helped walking on ice or sitting in a stool, what about her health gives you pause? Care all you want. Just don’t act like there’s hidden evidence she’s dying.

Well, she seems pretty solid for now, 70 is the new 60, and I like her understudy. So I’m not concerned.

That being said, my parents are the same age, and I honestly don’t know how she (and Trump) have the stamina to maintain a presidential campaign. My parents are really starting to slow down and do stupid shit like tripping for no reason. If she wins re-election, she’ll be almost 80 when she leaves office. I’m exhausted just thinking about that.

But everyone ages differently. The fact that she’s been able to keep this campaign schedule going for well over a year now proves to me that she’s pretty dang healthy and strong.

Has her personal physician stated what her health is? If so take his word for it.

Personally she looks healthier than Trump.

she is old, and only you can help her

There’s an ongoing conspiracy that’s being pushed by the Republican team is that Hillary is weak and prone to coughing fits and that she needs someone to help hold her up on her feet.

Karl Rove tried to spin it that Hillary had been in the hospital for a month following her concussion. It’s not true.

TV’s Dr. Drew Pinsky also recently earned some laughs for suggesting that he’d diagnosed her as having serious brain damage because she’d briefly worn glasses for double vision - Dr. Drew, needless to say, has never examined Hillary. Even Newt Gingrich told him to slow his roll.

Conservatives are also hinting that Hillary has to wear a defibrilator -

There are faked medical records for Hillary floating around -

I mean, worry about their health if you want, but keep in mind that there’s a deliberate misinformation campaign going on about Hillary’s health state.

Meanwhile, Donald “I have the most positive test results!” Trump’s only medical brief is from a doctor who lied about his professional associations.

So, you know. Good luck with your worries, I guess.

And SOUNDS a shitload healthier than Donny Boy. When someone feels it’s necessary to say that they’re a smart guy-- more than twice in one sentence-- what does the OP think about his mental health?

Ronald Reagan was 69 when he was elected in 1980, the oldest person elected to the office. He survived an assassination attempt and served two full terms in office. Granted, there were questions about his health as he neared the end of his second term, but in 1980 he seemed pretty vital.

Sure you should care about her health. You should also care about the obvious and pathetic lies about her health that are being flung about like monkey feces by Trump’s alt-right lads.

Personally, I care more about the “letter” that Trump’s doctor supposedly wrote. The thing is a masterpiece of fiction.

I can only suppose that all this “concern” about Hilary’s health from the Trump campaign is designed to lead people away from the obvious bogus Trump doctor letter.

There were questions about his health as he neared the end of his first term. One of the best one-liners in a presidential debate was a response to such a question: “I want you to know also I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience.”

How about because she has a young and competent VP pick and would appoint sensible experienced people for her cabinet. So in the extremely unlikely event that her health is a major issue after she becomes President the US would still be just fine.

What is your evidence that she has had a “probable stroke” and seizures?

“President Reagan, how are you feeling?”

“Well…thank you.”

And with any luck, we’ll have Speaker Pelosi in reserve.

Sure you can care. Right now there’s no evidence that her health is not good, and plenty of evidence her health is good.

If there were any credible evidence that her mental health were at risk, I would care about that (though not as much as I care about Trump’s current lack of mental health). But while there’s plenty of “evidence” for that, none of it is in the least bit credible. If it’s just a matter of physical frailty, though (which does seem fairly likely), what’s the big deal? It wasn’t a problem with FDR, and I don’t see why it should be a problem with any other president, either. The President’s job is to make good decisions, and if they need heavy objects lifted or something, they have people for that.

You should care about her health. Please assemble any facts you can find and report back.

She sure seemed energetic and competent in the speech I just watched where she eviscerated Trump’s undeniable connections to white supremacists. Meanwhile Trump has been cancelling events, I heard some people say that was because he was too weak and frail to keep the campaign pace up. Sad! Low energy!

For me McCain’s age/health was not an issue until he selected his VP. Age-wise, both Trump and Clinton are in the “would not be shocking if they died in the next four years” group. Tim Kaine, who I have no strong opinion on, versus Mike “condoms are too modern and liberal” Pence. I don’t know…
