Why are Looney Toons characters popular with rednecks?

There is a similar thread in Cafe Society (wrong forum, I think,) asking this question, and it’s gotten no replies and it’s been up for a long time. I’ll ask it again right here because I am very curious myself.

Why do a lot of rednecks have tattoos or truck decals of Warner Brother characters? TAZ in particular? How did Taz become such a popular symbol?

I figured the big one would be Yosemite Sam. Similar attitude- don’t take no shit from nobody. Popular on the mudflaps, it seems. As for Taz, I have no idea. He’s fast and he likes to eat. Don’t know how that connotes redneckism.

Because they’re popular with everybody and some people just like tattoos and mudflaps?
