I’d wager McD’s in the US is using the small packs of nuggets as a “loss leader,” they make little or nothing on selling you a 4 pc. from the dollar menu, but upsell you on getting a pop and maybe fries too. drinks are almost pure profit for these places.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s Canada may not be willing to do that. Or restaurant owners have greater freedom to decline participation in such things. I know down here Subway franchisees hate the “$5 foot long” promotion because they lose money on it.
