I mean aside from African and Thai food? Peanuts used in savory meat dishes are DELICIOUS, I mean amazing delicious. Chicken satay ummmmmmm:p
Yet their use seems very rare, why? I would have thought it would be more popular especially as a dipping sauce, I like it peanut stew but I could see that being more of an acquired taste.
In addition to Thai and African, in my experience you can also find peanuts as an addition to savoury dishes in India, China (particularly in the west), Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
Also, when I was a kid in England, my grandmother would always put out a ‘diy’ salad lunch with lots of different ingredients, and peanuts were one of the choices there too.
I agree though that there isn’t enough peanutty goodness in Western savoury recipes.
