Why are people still so goddamn stupid? Obama sure loves him some lobster, kuh'yuk!

You misunderstand me – when you focus on an individual – like say, Hoover – I assume you only look at his policy on Native Americans. At least, I assume that’s why you consider him a great president. Or at least part of it. Because otherwise, I have no idea. Perhaps you can clarify that?

As for obsessing over you – don’t flatter yourself.

Topic? These “Montana mountain lobster” are they similiar to “prairie oysters?”

It was a raging scandal that swept like wildfire across the nation, despite being ruthlessly suppressed by the liberal media so nobody ever heard about it!

No! Not even close! Duh!

Prairie oysters are spherical. Montana mountain lobsters are more of a cube shape.

Obama sealed the fate of the nation?

I made it to:

until I actually pissed myself.

Indeed! I’ve been around since the AOL days and am still trying to come up with something coherent.

And don’t forget the Obama children are Spongebob Squarepants fans; he works for…MISTER CRABS!!!

Much as I hate to chime in as #9000 in the wierdaaron blowjob train, I love the variation and style in his OPs. I hope he continues to post these counter-glurges for as long as the board tolerates them and as long as they’re fun to write.

Good God, he has to blow all of you?

If you had it in Montana, it’s quite likely that it came from somewhere else. Most Montana beef is exported out of the state; it’s nearly impossible to find a restaurant that serves it.

No, don’t be silly. It’s strictly voluntary.

Well, good. Video on YouTube, or Facebook?

Tip: nobody is saying that EVERYONE against Obama is racist. However, the extremists, at least the majority, are undoubtedly motivated in part by racism. Nobody ever claimed Clinton or Bush was born in, say, France.

Esse quam videri, sir. I judge presidents by what they have done for all Americans.

Why don’t you read and learn? Why is it my job to teach you what Hoover did as president? If you weren’t so snarky and making assumptions, I might be more thorough in answering you. The economic crash was no more his fault than 9-11 was Bush’s fault — both happening at roughly the same time in their presidencies. Hoover was defeated, not so much because of his economic recovery plans (which were progressive for his time), but because of his lack of charisma (presidents were now filmed — you can even watch YouTube videos), popular opposition to prohibition, and his inability to work with other policitians. Hoover was the last president elected directly from the cabinet, and he was more used to dealing with people openly, rather than using the machinations of politics to achieve his goals. His humanitarian work is legendary. In his first 120 days in office, he held more press conferences than any president before or since. It is true that his vice-president was part Indian, but big whoop. He did make sweeping changes in BIA, and many other government agencies. The notion that Hoover wanted government to do nothing about the depression is a lie. As he said in his memoirs, he opposed his own Treasury Secretary Melon’s policies of government giving no assistance. Hoover was defeated by the Great Depression in the same way that Johnson was defeated by the Vietnam War. Subordinates, incompetent in their decision making, were his ruination.

Plus, I hear Herbert Hoover stayed at the Plaza Hotel once, on a floor with extra large rooms, TVs, and those little refrigerators you have to open with a key.

Credit caaard? Yoooou gooot it.

The vacuum cleaner guy?

No – but he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

Lib: once again, I didn’t say he created the Depression, or that he was at fault for it. I said, he wasn’t such a great president – or at the very LEAST, there have been better presidents since.

Quoth Chefguy:

That may be true; I’ve never asked my steak where it’s from (though I can’t imagine why anyone would ship beef into Montana). All I know is, all of the beef I’ve had here has been across the board better than beef I’ve had back East. Maybe it’s just that folks around here really know how to do beef up right, or something.

I’ve eaten quite a few steaks in my life, and I don’t remember place of origin ever being mentioned. And I’ve eaten in some nice places. Usually it’s just Angus this or USDA Prime that.

Except Kobe beef from Japan, of course, but I’ve never been in a restaurant of sufficient douchebaggery to serve that.

How is Montana beef supposed to be better, anyway? It’s not like with seafood where certain types of crab and lobster and fish are native to a specific locale (Maine lobster is quite different from Florida lobster; just ask Obama), but cows are cows. You could take a Montana cow and raise it in Cincinnati. Unless Montana has special grass, or special… what do cows drink? Milk? Gross, don’t they know that comes from cows?!

ETA: I just remembered eating bison while in Colorado, and a large deal being made about it being Colorado bison. But where the hell else is bison going to come from? Colorado’s the only place they eat it.

Not so. You can get a nice bison burger in any of Ted Turner’s ‘Ted’s Montana Grill’ restaurants, which are all over the east coast and the lower Midwest.

I’m pretty sure I’ve made it clear already that I don’t like to have my opinionated assertions contradicted by verifiable facts. Try to accommodate.
