Here’s what I want to know: what has Obama got against lobster? How can he insult the good people of Maine by not eating it daily? Are you too good for shellfish, Mr. President? Don’t you want to support America’s fishermen?
Hoover didn’t cause the Depression – I didn’t say that. However, to say he was one of the best presidents of the 20th century (as Lib seems to be doing), is bullshit.
Ahhh – the plot thickens!:
While this is obviously a good thing, we all know Lib’s obsession with anything about Indians – to the exclusion of anything else.
The idea that there were no greater presidents until Obama – ignores men like FDR, or JFK. What about Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower, who started the move towards integregation? And while his legacy may be forever tainted by Vietnam, LBJ can be commended with HIS efforts in the Civil Rights Movement, as well as the Great Society. Clinton was no slouch either.
Say that to all the baby lobsters going “where’s mama?”
Hoover did also forcibly repatriate half a million Mexicans, most of whom were in the US legally.
I dunno – if I wanted to say “thank you” to a bunch of Montanans who had been busting their humps for a couple of days setting up a Town Hall meeting and I had a choice between steak (which they can get every day) or lobster (which are pretty rare in Montana, I’d guess) I could see catering in some lobster. I’m not saying that’s what happened, but it certainly wouldn’t even nudge my outrage meter.
Let’s remember that the Lovenstein Institute hoax has fooled more than a few members of the board, and that the Sarah Palin Africa hoax was widely discussed here before that matter was debunked.
I’m not stating that as any kind of equivalence - I don’t know how that would stack up. But liberals congratulating themselves on their moral superiority here might want to rein it in a bit.
If you haven’t tried Montana mountain lobster (Homarus Montanus), then you really haven’t lived. Served on a bed of lime jello and topped with a little Fluffernutter is the traditional way of serving it. Mmm mmm!
He was also (according to some reports) a wizard, and that’s pretty awesome.
Since I never heard of either of these I’d have to assume they were nearly as widespread on this board as the phrase “Bushitler”.
Instead of focusing on what he ate, the email should have cited what the trip to Montana cost the taxpayers to answer (8) EIGHT questions…
Guin Guin Guin. Now, you know that’s not true. I’ve been posting about everything from board rules to Jesus to philosophy to Big Brother to a poll about religion to Obama and all manner of topics. Your “to the exclusion of anything else” is so ridiculously, obviously, and patently false that you’re going to leave people wondering about your general truthiness. Now, just apologize and back away gracefully.
(Also, if I may add a word of advice: stop obsessing over me. It isn’t necessary that every comment I make be monitored and blown up by you into this whole big thing. Please. And thank you.)
Reports by who? Baby Cakes?
What are the Lovenstein Institute and Sarah Palin Africa hoaxes?
Dude, you do seem to judge all Presidents on how they did by the Indians. It kind of makes me wonder what exactly Obama has done for your people. :dubious:
Seconded. “Widely discussed here”, you say, MM? :dubious:
A group he *claims *to be his people, but who do not recognize him in return. Why it matters to him so passionately is his own problem.
I seem to remember some McCain staffers claiming that Palin thought Africa was a country. I don’t remember it being debunked, though.
I have no idea what the “Lovenstein Institute” is.
FWIW, I just did a search on “Lovenstein Institute”. The number of mentions on this entire board before today?
Zero.
Mr. Moto, wtf? :dubious:
It was. The link says Fox stood by its story anyhow.
Not searching this one; let Mr. Moto provide some. Since it was “widely discussed”, that shouldn’t be a problem, right?
That’s not really a debunking. It’s just a guy falsely claiming to have been the source.
Interesting that Fox News are the only ones who still say it’s true. Maybe Jon Stewart was right…
