Why Brooke Shields, that was spoken like a first class smartass!

Assuming, of course, that upper level Scientologists actually believe in Scientology at all, which I expect is true for only some of them.

To get back to the original subject, I am SO glad Brooke Shields had the guts to say something back. What Cruise said was so ignorant I get all incoherent trying to write about it. And does anyone take this Scientology shit seriously? Why is it considered a religion?
And I think she meant the child’s ticket was for him because he acts so childish.

Celebrity + whacky scam religion = fair game

Tom’s Oprah appearance and Scientological musings have his former manager Pat Kingsley using them as damage control lessons.

Excellent comeback by Brooke Shields.

And she was great in Freeway.

PS- Somebody has way too much time (but some good video equipment).

Unfortunately, yes. Check out my link.

Beats the crap outta me. Not all countries agree, thankfully.

That was embarrassing to watch.

For some reason I was expecting to see him jumping around with Yakety Sax playing in the background, a la Ashley Simpson.

Tom’s stock has dropped a lot recently with his pubescent behavior over a woman he has known for less than 2 months. Now he’s fixing to do a freefall.

If he wants to opine about pharmaceuticals v. holistic medicine, that’s okay by me. There’s room for debate. But if you’d like to join in on the debate, you should be prepared to bring along some facts to the table. To say “these women should just take vitamins” is simplistic and offensive to women who are struggling with PPD.

And then Cruise attacked Shields re her career. How bizarre and ungentlemanly of him.

of course, mr cruise hasn’t dealt with a preg. wife, he divorced his wife when she was preg.

Given that he beat the crap out of his first wife, read what is said to be a heartbreakingly touching poem to his second wife on their anniversary, and then filed for divorce a short time later, methinks the term “gentlemanly” should never be applied to Cruise. Ratbastard and shorty, however, strike me as fair game.

The first time Nicole Kidman appeared on Letterman after the divorce, Dave asked her about the big changes in her life, and Nicole pointedly said, “I can wear heels for the first time in years.” which sounds to me like the ratbastard had issues with his wife being taller than him. I thought Scientology was supposed to correct “issues” like that.

Frankly, I hope that if Brooke Shields ever runs into Cruise in Hollywood or where ever, she promptly beats the daylights out of him. (Wouldn’t be that hard for her, I don’t think, she’s probably a good 3 inches taller than him.)

One thing that I like about Brooke is that even though she is straight, she is confident enough to have appeared a couple of times on the cover of a magazine that I believe is generally for gays and lesbians.

Tom Cruise’s comments about not taking medication for depression also bothered me. As a public figure in a position of having a lot of influence over very vulnerable people, he really shouldn’t be practicing medicine without a license. Really bad form.

He has a right not to be persecuted for his beliefs though. (He had it coming from Brooke, however.)

That’s a pretty serious accusation. Citation?

“News” accounts (i.e. Entertainment Tonight, etc., etc.) at the time. IIRC, it was in the late 80s before domestic abuse became the hot button issue it has in the wake of the Nicole Brown/Ron Goldman slayings.

And can you find any mention of this accusation from any trustworthy site on the Web? Anywhere?

Agreed. All the “OMGWTFLOL, HE’S SHORT!!1!11!” posts are more than a bit ironic considering the OP and just asinine besides. The average height for American males is 5’9" and Cruise is 5’7", two whole inches shorter than the mean.

Shields, on the other hand, is 6’0", nine inches taller than the 5’3" average for American women. OMGWTFLOL, SHE’S AN AMAZON!!1!11!

I’ve no desire to search it out. If you’re all hot and bothered by the matter, then go digging for it. What’s it matter if I find an account of it on thesmokinggun.com or somewhere else or not? Is it going to change ticket sales for his movies? Nope. Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? Nope.

You get cite-happy about the strangest things sometimes. It may or may not have happened; do you not believe he saw the report?

No, I don’t.
